As with many therapeutic horsemanship programs, horses are often older and need specialized care.
Arthritis, Insulin Resistance and Metabolic issues are common for senior age horses. These things are incredibly treatable, with the right medications.
Eddy, for example, lives with a condition called Cushings Disease. He takes medicine every day that helps manage this condition, and it costs us around $180 for 60 day supply.
We make sure that the horses are seen by equine professionals throughout the year as needed. We provide vaccinations, dental care, farrier care...it all adds up pretty quickly.

Today we honor National Disability Employee Awareness Month, recognizing the contributions of those like my Aunt Janet and others. In life, you can choose to be victorious whatever challenges lie ahead, which leads us to our quote of the day: The difference between try and triumph is a little “umph”🤘
