Planning to do a bit more with Norah this winter. She turned 1 in May of this year so still VERY much a baby so nothing strenuous but it’s important to teach them body language and boundaries and she needs to do all the basics like lead, stand, pick up feet and move over/out of the way when you ask and to not be pushy and be respectful. She does most of this stuff to some degree already but there is room for improvement. She can be a pushy sassy little thing prone to dramatics.

Little miss Norah isn’t so little anymore! I didn’t stick her but she’s definitely feeling more like a horse than a baby.

Hoping to start doing a bit more with her over this winter. She’s just itching for something to do.

Had a wonderful time at Crescent lake this past weekend horscamping for the first time in 2 years! I can’t believe it’s been that long. Khat did awesome. We did 9 miles the first day, 13 the second, and a slow 8 miles the third. She was strong for all weekend and came back looking like a champ. I believe she is fit enough now I could enter her in an LD Endurance race but I’m still getting my butt back into shape. I’ve been sedentary for the past two years working on a huge work project that required hours upon hours of sitting in front of a computer and I’ve lost a lot of muscle tone and gained weight back. This year my goal is to get us both back into endurance fit condition so that we might be able to be compete next year!

Long day at the Vet! Both Charm and Khat got a check up and a little something something to help with the aches and pains of getting back into shape.

Didn’t get many pictures but boy did this ride feel good! 6 miles out of Sisters Cow Camp.

First trail ride in a year!! I can’t believe it’s been that long.

I’ve had to take almost 2 years off to focus on my work. My last trail ride was spring 2024 and that was just one. Before that was back in the summer of 2023! 😳

Khat was a rockstar considering her last trail ride was August 2023. I’ve been slowly bringing her back into work and we are both working towards getting more riding fit. I’m not making any plans this year other than some camping trips but we’ll see where this year takes us.

Not to shabby for the first 30 days transformation pics!

Charm is coming along great... it is so satisfying when a horse you trained two or three years ago remembers every single thing and is only waiting on fit enough.

I will have a training spot available in April and possibly mid March.

*yes i know shes looking at a different height. But the over all balance and musscle tone is developing nicely.

Miss Norah is getting big! She’s doing really well and is the friendliest baby we’ve ever had at the farm. She comes right up to you for scratches and has the sweetest little nicker. She practiced getting her feet held by the farrier when mom got hers done recently and got her first tube of wormer which she took like a champ.
Her baby coat is still working its way off but she’s started to get white hairs all over indicative that she’ll be roaning out. She is not a gray.
She is a Pax Asgard baby who is a homozygous few spot leopard so she should eventually get spots!
