Before we kick off the National Reined Cow Horse Association Stallion Stakes, we need to back up a couple weeks to congratulate our clients on their successes at the Kiplinger Cow Spectacular.

👑Reysin Royalty, owned by Cross Performance Horses, entered the show pen for the first time in a year. She and Andy left with a 5th place finish in the Open Bridle Spectacular.

⚡️Metal Reb, owned by Cross Performance Horses, & Andy had a great schooling run in preparation for Vegas and finished 4th in the Open Derby composite.

🔥Hot Donna & Megan Ciana Rand had some great runs to win the Non Pro Hackamore and place 4th in the Non Pro Derby.

💙Blues Wright On did his thing with Megan Ciana Rand and left with a win the Intermediate Non Pro Bridle, 2nd in the Non Pro Bridle and 2nd in the Non Pro Bridle Spectacular.

Our Non Pro Boxing Derby crew had a lot of fun and took home some nice checks.

💥This One Goes Boon & Mason Taggart won the Non Pro Boxing Derby.

🌟This Cats A Star & Kelsie Minnich Bond followed them up with the 2nd place finish.

🐥Chica Cielo & Leigh Papierski had some great runs to finish 5th.

📞Assistant Trea Allen catch rode Smooth Talkin Liz for Kirk Hall to a 3rd place finish in the Limited Open Hackamore.

We're excited to see what everyone has up their sleeves for Vegas, kicking off this week!

𝘖𝘯𝘦 𝘛𝘪𝘮𝘪𝘯 𝘒𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘦 𝘪𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘬𝘪𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘧 𝘩𝘰𝘳𝘴𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘮𝘴 𝘰𝘧 𝘳𝘪𝘥𝘪𝘯𝘨.

She’s pretty. She’s freaky talented. And she’s really fun to hang out with.

One Timin Katie originally came to my barn as a yearling and spent her aged event years with us. She eventually found her way back to us with her new rider, Mason Taggart, and together they have been unstoppable.

From their Non Pro Boxing Spectacular win at the Hackamore Classic last year to their many many other wins, they are have become an incredible team.

Congratulations Katie on earning your 𝗡𝗥𝗖𝗛𝗔 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗼𝗿 𝗡𝗼𝗻 𝗣𝗿𝗼 𝗕𝗼𝘅𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗔𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗲𝘃𝗲𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗔𝘄𝗮𝗿𝗱.

It was an honor to watch Mason and Katie receive this award a couple weeks ago.

We are all now looking forward to riding Katie’s babies. We can only hope they’re half as good as she is.

Metal Reb and Andy put together three solid runs to clinch the reserve championship in the Limited Open at the National Reined Cow Horse Association Tres Osos Derby.

Reba got to work and secured their second place finish with a beautiful 221 in the fence work today to be the high mark in thr Limited Open.

We sure love this fancy mare! Thank you Cross Performance Horses for continually providing me the opportunity to train and show your horses. This gal keeps getting better and better!

𝘊𝘰𝘮𝘱𝘦𝘵𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 National Reined Cow Horse Association 𝘞𝘰𝘳𝘭𝘥’𝘴 𝘎𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘵𝘦𝘴𝘵 𝘏𝘰𝘳𝘴𝘦𝘮𝘢𝘯 𝘩𝘢𝘴 𝘣𝘦𝘦𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘪𝘮𝘢𝘵𝘦 𝘨𝘰𝘢𝘭, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘰𝘯𝘦 𝘐 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦𝘯’𝘵 𝘵𝘢𝘬𝘦𝘯 𝘭𝘪𝘨𝘩𝘵𝘭𝘺.

I have waited longer than I may have wanted to, but I waited until I felt my horse was truly ready for this level of competition. Ms Genuinelysmart is the first one to get that call.

I am proud to own this gritty red mare — the red mare that is often overlooked as people walk through my barn. The mare I picked out as a late 3-year-old for a client, but I loved so much I figured out how to own her shortly after. The mare that took me to my first premier event win — the Level 1 Open Hackamore Classic Champion. The mare that earned my 6-year-old (at the time) daughter her first Gist Silversmiths buckle in the NRCHA Buckaroo class.

It’s as much of honor to show this mare as it is to compete at this level against my mentors, former bosses, and good friends.

Today, we wrap up the preliminaries with the steer stopping and fence work. It’s been a great week. I’m proud of the performance Gemma has put forth thus far, and we’re ready for the next two events.

Now, we pray to the cow gods.

We didn’t reach all the goals we set for the year, but I am very happy with my horses and excited for the coming year’s derbies. So here are some highlights from this fall. CP Dual Smart Look Owned by Cross Performance Horses Fence work was solid in Fort Worth 217.

Raising up the next generation to love cow horses is where it’s at. My 5-year-old daughter had her first flag lesson on Rex this week. We’re excited to see where this takes her.

The Colorado Reined Cowhorse Association once again put on a stellar Firecracker Show in Douglas, Wyoming, drawing large classes and competitors from all over. We couldn’t have asked for more from our horses. All our clients went home with great results, checks, and more great runs on their horses. 👑 Reysin Royalty, owned by Cross Performance Horses, & Andy placed 🥉 in the Intermediate Open Derby and 6th in the Open Derby. 💫 Hannas Metallic Rey & Denille LePlatt entered up in the Non Pro and made their first fence run in the show pen. They made it count with 🥇 in the Limited Non Pro Bridle Spectacular and 🥇 in the Limited Non Pro Bridle. ✨ Ima Metallic Shine and Niamh Sexton marked a 149 in the cow work on their way to finishing 🥉 in the Non Pro Boxing Spectacular. They were also 🥇 in the Non Pro Boxing. 🎲 Moms Last Bett & Ralsten LePlatt had another great show winning the Youth Boxing circuit with a 🥇 & 🥈 place.
