Meet the pet of the month and our oldest kitty resident - Grouchy Gem

At 19 years old, Gem is less a pet and more a piece of decorative furniture with opinions. He’s extremely fluffy, very handsome, and occasionally nippy—thanks to being declawed in the front (not his choice).

Gem doesn’t like change, loud people, or surprise affection. Think of him as a sentient throw pillow with a temper or a mildly haunted recliner. But give him a cozy spot and respect his space, and you might just earn a treasured moment of affection.

He’d thrive as an independent house cat or a workshop supervisor, glaring from the sidelines. Adopting Gem means welcoming home a grumpy, beautiful antique who’s absolutely earned his right to grouch.
