There's something truly special about hitting the trails with a group of fellow wranglers. Beyond the fresh air and scenic views, group trail rides offer unique benefits that go far beyond the saddle:

Riding together fosters a deep sense of camaraderie and trust. As we navigate the trails, we learn to communicate, support, and rely on each other, building bonds that extend beyond the ride.

Mental Well-being - Group rides reduce stress and anxiety. The combination of nature, movement, and shared experience creates a therapeutic environment where worries fade away, and a sense of peace takes over.

Skill Building - Riding with others challenges us to improve our skills, whether it’s mastering new techniques or simply learning from one another. We push each other to be our best, all while enjoying the journey.

Community - There's strength in numbers. Riding in a group reminds us that we are part of something bigger—a community of like-minded individuals who share a passion for horses and the great outdoors.

Roping isn't just a skill—it's a therapeutic tool! Research shows that engaging in structured, goal-oriented activities like roping can enhance cognitive function and reduce stress. According to Psychology Today, physical activities that require precision and focus, like roping on the ground and in the saddle, help improve mental clarity and emotional resilience. At the Service Wrangler Program, we're combining the art of roping with a supportive, natural environment to help our participants thrive. Whether you're tracking and roping a dummy or mastering horsemanship skills, our program offers a one-of-a-kind experience that boosts mental well-being.

08/02/2024

As we enter the Fall Semester on September 9th, we want to thank everyone for their support of our programs and growing with us! This fall we will be implementing new policies regarding payments and cancellations.

Due to the growing number of participants and to ensure that we can continue providing high-quality services, we will no longer offer weekly payment plans. The first half of the semester payment will be required on the first day of lessons, and the second half will be required the week of October 21st. Full payment of the semester can also be made at the first lesson if preferred. If the first half of the payment or full payment is not made on the first day of lessons, riders will not ride. Returning riders must also be caught up on any balances owed before the first day of the semester. Payments can be made onsite in the office. There will be a box to drop your payment in (please put payment in a sealed envelope with the participant's name on it). We also accept Venmo, PayPal, or you can make a payment using credit/debit through the Power of Hope website: www.powerofhopeec.com. This change is necessary because we have experienced an increase in unpaid fees, and we want to make sure that everyone can enjoy uninterrupted access to our programs.

Additionally, we have updated our cancellation policy. We kindly ask that you inform us at least 24 hours in advance if you need to cancel a lesson. Unfortunately, we have had too many instances where participants have not notified us of their absence, which affects our scheduling and resources. If you fail to provide timely notice or do not show up for a lesson, you will not be refunded or credited for that lesson. The money for that lesson will be forfeited. However, if Power of Hope cancels a lesson due to weather or emergency circumstances your lesson will be credited to the next semester.

All participants will need to gather in the waiting room. Your instructor or a volunteer will come to get participants to start their lesson. This will be a year-round procedure. No one is to enter the barn or arena without a volunteer or staff member. Everyone is welcome to stay and watch, but we ask that parents/caretakers and any additional children please stay in the waiting room area or playground area outside. This is to protect everyone. Horses are fight-or-flight animals, and random doors slamming or people in odd places can spook a horse and cause possible injury to people and horses.

We have had to increase the price to $40 a lesson due to the rising cost of caring for horses. Group lessons are 1 hour. Semi-private lessons are 45 minutes. Group lessons for participants 6 years of age and under are between 30-45 minutes. Please be aware that any lessons scheduled after 3 PM will be group lessons.

‼️ Dangerous heat wave hitting MO! ‼️

Excessive heat will take hold today & last through Thursday with heat indexes exceeding 105-110 in several areas of the state. The longevity of this heat is a concern, especially for vulnerable groups & those outdoors for long periods of time. Please take safety precautions, stay hydrated & limit outdoor exposure as much as possible. NEVER leave kids or pets in the car. Know the signs of heat illness & when to take action!

POH is canceling lessons 7/30 through 8/1 due to this dangerous heat wave. Stay safe and hydrated everyone!

We are so excited to be hosting our second annual charity barn dance! At this event we will have both silent and live auction items; so, we are looking for quality items to add to our silent auction baskets and also for items and experiences that we can auction off in the live auction. These items can include gift certificates, gift baskets, experiences, tickets to special events, hogs/beef with or without processing costs covered, a weekend stay at a vacation rental etc.

So, if any individuals or businesses have items that they would like to donate for the live or silent auction and would like to get their name, products, and services out there this is a great opportunity for advertising and for a great cause!

There are so many fun basket ideas out there and we are hoping to have a wide variety of items for our silent and live auctions. If you or anyone you know may be interested in donating items to our silent and live auctions either message Power of Hope through messenger or email Miranda at: [email protected]
