We're thrilled to announce the arrival of Millie and Archer's first F1 B Petite Mini Aussiedoodle litter! Millie demonstrated remarkable strength and devotion, and she's absolutely smitten with her newborns. This litter brings us two boys and two girls, and it's astonishing how tiny they are. With a predicted adult weight of no more than 15 pounds, these little bundles of joy are sure to bring immense delight.
Located in Stephens City, Virginia these guys will be ready to go third week of March !!

Today is the day we introduce the cuties to their first grooming. Here we set the stage for these 3 week old pups to become desensitized to nail clipping, running clippers and coat stimulation. I also talk about how important these practices are as well as where the are currently in their development.

So we're terrible at Social Media (You know this, you still allow us onto your feed, and we are eternally grateful.) Last week was therapy dog week here in the US. We're right out straight and I simply missed it, but because we're the Eric Cartman of the dog training world...we do what we want.

Announcing "K9 Responder Academy Appreciation Week!"

This week we're going to highlight some therapy dogs and their handlers, particularly those working in the first responder community.

Today I start you with the first therapy dog I had a hand in officially working with. Pictured here is Mattie. Mattie is named after Firefighter Matt Hall who passed away in the line of duty. Mattie is a labradoodle from Doodle Run Kennels.

I worked with her while I was working with America's K-9 Caring Angels, who I believe still has more facility dogs working throughout the US than anyone else. I adore them. I adore Mattie, and I absolutely adore Summerfield Fire District for putting all the red tape, and "what if's" aside and just taking care of their team after a line of duty death.

This photo is within about the first 60 seconds of Mattie meeting her new family, and her primary handler Assistant Chief Jenna Daniels and her husband, Kirk, who works for Greensboro FD. I could tell you it was love at first sight, but you can see for yourself. This is where it started, but you can follow Summerfield Fire District and all of Mattie's adventures to see what she's been up to over the last year!

Week three is the beginning of the puppies socialization period and it’s one of the fastest growth periods in a puppies life.
There are several developmental milestones that have been reached by this point and we are looking for more to emerge this week.
Currently puppies have opened their eyes, and ears, are starting to toddle around, they have begun to scent the air and communicate with each other!
Their teeth are starting to erupt and they will be looking to get into momma’s food in no time at all!

Early neurological stimulation is one of the very first training exercises we do with our puppies here at Doodle Run.
There are many health benifits associated with this process…..
