Lilith was all set for her new life in Virginia but when she arrived at foster mom’s home- she bolted! As you can imagine, panic quickly set in.

Amber and Matt were boots on the ground from day 1- designing flyers, fielding sighting calls, grilling, setting cameras, and when the time was right - trapping.

THANK YOU Fairfax Country Fire & Rescue! 🚒💙❤️

“Dog rescued from Accotink Creek - Just before 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 23, Fairfax County Fire and Rescue personnel were in the water of Accotink Creek, where they rescued a dog who had fallen into the water.

Fire and Rescue officials said they found the dog stuck in the freezing water when they arrived. Crews were able to enter the water quickly and get the dog out.

According to FCFRD, the dog was transferred to an area veterinarian to be evaluated.” ❤️🙏🏻

“Most people are aware that Michael Vick was/is a dogfighter. They may even have illusions of what they think dogfighting is at its worst or the suspected actions that take place. However, what Vick did was not simple dogfighting.

Picture your dog or your friends dog tossed to a couple of animals trained to fight for humans. Imagine that animal screaming as it is being ripped apart and having its throat ripped out. Imagine the person that tossed that helpless animal to the other animals just laughing as it occurs and later admitting he thought it was funny. That person who tossed the animals to the others is Michael Vick.

Imagine taking a bucket used to hold water, filling it with water, and holding a dogs head in it until it drowns while it stands on land.

Have you ever thought of the image of hanging a dog? He did that too. He also picked them up over his head before slamming them downward on concrete at his full force over and over.

Imagine the blunt force trauma that dog felt as it hit concrete over and over from not dying the first time.

He also attached jumper cables to their ears and tossed them in a pool to electrocute them.

This is not about dogfighting. That has become a separate issue. The acts in dogfighting are disgusting and reprehensible. What Vick did was to take it one step further and find a way to legitimately torture dogs like a horror movie.

Not my words but written perfectly by Vick himself.

If you support this man I have nothing but disgust for you.

This is not normal behavior that should be rewarded. Ever.

And spare me the" he did his time" does that make it better?

He got out of his time because of his fame.

When asked years later about the surviving 52 dogs he said quote" I don't give a damn about those dogs ".

Vick is not redeemed, he got away with it.

Shameful, disgusting, atrocious, pathetic, gross, inhumae, cruel, appalling, monster...that's who MV is and always will be.”

“Lucas, was a Grand Champion of dog fighter, Michael Vick.

I sponsored Lucas, sending him blankets, bones...etc.

In return, those small gestures made me feel like I was making a difference in his life that had been filled with agonizing pain & fear.

Lucas bore deep scars both physically and emotionally. Never to be allowed in a real home with a loving family, because of what Vick trained him to become.

Lucas was a permanent resident at Best Friends Animal Sanctuary for the remainder of his life per court order.

A lifetime sentence for a dog who was FORCED to be in a pit and fight to the death. Michael Vick received only 19 months for torturing and killing dogs at his own free will.

I know nothing of Michael Vick’s football career. I don’t care if he can throw or catch a ball while running 10 or 20 yards. That’s simply talent.

I’m more interested in something more important.

Like his character as a human being.

Or his thought process as he took his family’s pet dogs and threw them in a pit with fighting dogs in training and laughed as they were viciously torn apart.

What kind of father does that?

I’m more interested in his testimony in court as he stated he didn’t know dog fighting was illegal, but yet put a privacy fence up so his illegal activities couldn’t be seen & painted the sheds on his property black to prevent helicopters from seeing them.

Or as he stated that he took the legs of a little red dog and slammed the dog on the concrete ground repeatedly until the dog’s head, neck & back were crushed.

How he hooked jumper cables to under performing dog’s ears while being connected to car batteries and threw the dogs in the pool while they frantically tried to escape the inevitable.

Lucas died as a result of suffering from Babesia, a disease transmitted from one infected fighting dog to another via bites.

He didn’t ask for the life that was forced upon him & he didn’t deserve the scars he wore on his face & body.

Lucas was loyal. He showed unwavering courage and unconditional love.”
