Adoptable puppies!
Meet Loretta!! We need help find her forever family! Loretta (who her foster family calls “Lovey”) came to us from Puerto Rico with her three sisters, who have all found homes. She’s seven months old and about 30 pounds. Lovey enjoys walks, sleeps all night in her crate without a peep, and is doing great with potty training. As you can see in the video, she absolutely adores other dogs! Lovey takes a bit of time to warm up to people, probably because some people weren’t so nice to her in the past. She will thrive in a home with a doggy sibling and with humans who are willing to be patient while she learns that people can be good and kind. Lovey’s forever family will be very lucky to have her! Please share to help find them!
Open house today!!
Come down and meet our playful puppies and our three cats who are ready to go home today! We have open hours from 11:00 to 4:00 and would love to have you stop by.
If you're interested in adopting please bring all members of your family, any resident dogs if you're interested in adopting a dog, and proof of home ownership or landlord approval.
Thor loves the water! He's ready to spend his days out of the shelter playing and swimming! Can he go home with you?
This is Jigglypuff! She's a 10-month-old female who came to us from a home with numerous cats. She's a bit reserved so she would probably do best in a home with a friendly outgoing cat. She's a gorgeous girl who would love to go home with you today.

Position Statement – A leader in our field, The Animal Shelter Inc. of Sterling is a happy, clean, well run, family friendly animal shelter with progressive programs that improves lives by raising the bar for animal care in our shelter and community. We are an established organization committed to placing animals in caring homes through innovative programs and placement services.
At the Animal Shelter Inc. of Sterling we share a core belief that we will only help animals by working proactively and compassionately with people. Reflected in all of our programs and services is our belief that people and animals are inherently good. We strive to create a judgment-free and caring environment for all community members seeking our services, whether they are surrendering a pet, adopting or utilizing our low-cost services. This philosophy is shared with all employees and volunteers. We have a streamlined adoption process and have a more positive way of connecting people and animals. There are no lengthy applications and screening processes. Instead, we want to engage in conversation with prospective adopters. If we start from a perspective that people are coming to us with the best intentions, we will have a much better success rate of finding life-long matches.
