As most of you know my mother, Bette, was admitted into Erlanger Hospital, Chattanooga, with cardiac issues about 7 weeks ago. They determined it to be A-fib and dangerously low Blood Pressure.
During her stay they put a pic-line inside her, in order to get a more accurate BP reading. They then proceeded to give her a medication to raise her BP, do to the reading being so low.
After a few days they realized that the pic-line wasn’t in correctly and proceeded to fix it. Once it was in properly, they realized her BP was over 200/110 approximately. They then had to give her a medication to lower her BP.
2 days later she suffered a stroke, causing her to lose movement in her left side. This was due to extreme changes in her pressures.
She is currently in a rehabilitation facility, Cumberland, located in Bridgeport, AL, where they relocated her closer to home. She has been there for 3 weeks this coming Thursday (April 11, 2024). However she still has no movement in her left side.
Her insurance, Medicare, is due to stop paying her entire funds at Cumberland, down to only 50% of the funds. Now leaving her having to pay $102 a day.
We are in the process of getting her applied for a secondary insurance, Medicaid, in hopes that they might help with some of the bill. However anyone that knows about these processes, understands that approval doesn’t happen overnight.
We would greatly appreciate anyone willing to help with this situation; as neither my mother nor myself are financially able to pay these extra expenses at this time.
Thank you guys for taking the time to read this post & we hope that you have a very blessed day.
