Very proud of our 4H Leather kids this year! Make sure you stop & check out their work this year (Labor Day week/weekend) at Ravalli County Fairgrounds in the 4H Exhibit Building!

When most people think of 4-H, they tend to picture the livestock. Kids raising pigs, goats, sheep, chickens, rabbits, and steers.

But there’s also a whole other world of kids out there working just as hard on indoor projects.

These hands-on projects teach too many skills and trades to count.

There’s leatherwork, metalworking, and shooting sports.
Cake decorating, sewing, and baking.
Photography, survival skills, and woodworking.

If you can dream it up, there’s probably a 4-H project for it.

And that’s the beauty of 4-H.

It’s not just a way to keep kids busy during the summer—it’s an organization that helps shape them into capable, well-rounded young adults. Whether they go on to use these skills in a future career or not, the lessons they learn run far deeper.

They learn how plan and research.
How to follow instructions.
How to use their creativity to create something unique.
How to critique themselves and grow from their mistakes.
How to problem-solve with grit and perseverance—because learning something new isn’t always easy, but working through frustration matters.
They learn how to see a project through from start to finish, even when the process gets hard.

Livestock projects are incredible teachers, no doubt about it.

But these indoor projects?
They’re the unsung heroes—quietly helping to mold the next generation into thoughtful, skilled, and resourceful individuals.

4-H changes lives.

And if you ask me, these 4-H kids might just go on to change the world.

People ask: what is the hardest thing about riding horses?

It’s the ground, the ground is the hardest!

Zoom in on the photo, to see what kinds of cuts are included in a quarter of beef! We have 3, cut & wrapped, quarters available now, for pickup. A quarter will fit in a small freezer or 1 large ice chest (for appropriate size). We get bulk packages double wrapped, to save our buyers on cut/wrap prices.

We have up to a few wholes, going in for butcher next week, if you’d like to select your own cuts & pay the butcher separately. You can purchase quarters, halves or wholes.

We also have select cuts & burger available in our depot. Individual cuts are vacuum sealed, so you can see the marbling & sizes.

We are around today (7/22) for appts., if you’d like to grab some beef!

Our Story

We love what we do and teach what we love. Do more of what makes you happy: we live it everyday, together, as a family.

We train our own working ranch horses and build quality, custom-made saddles to enjoy the ride. We teach a few roping clinics each year that focus on horsemanship, stock handling and roping. We document our adventures with pictures. We hope that our attention to detail, teachings, and livestock are helping others to appreciate and know the Western lifestyle.
