Early season finished whitetail.

This mount is a testament to what can happen if you take care of your capes before getting them to your taxidermist. Especially early season capes when the temperatures are warmer than ideal.

Keys to setting yourself up to having your successful hunt turn into a successful mount:

-Keep the hair on your capes dry, this decreases chances of bacteria growth that result in hair slippage

-Keep your capes cold and never wrap a warm cape in a plastic bag, doing so will result in a "greenhouse effect" even if it's put directly into a freezer, which can cause an increase in bacteria growth and hair slippage

-Don't drag your deer in a way that hair will be pulled from any part of the cape you would like to be included in your mount.

-Have your deer skinned by someone who truly knows the right way to cut the cape so it doesn't affect the quality of your mount.

At the end of the day taxidermists are artists not magicians
