More Mango 🥭 Muzzle Conditioning … can you guess what my favorite Disney movie was growing up?

Working on him putting his face in on his own when cued and building duration with his head in the muzzle.

Next time I will clip it on and possible go do something fun like go for a walk with it… we will go at his pace but so far he seems to tolerate it well.

Working Mango who’s got some aggression around food:
- he is a very confident boy who doesn’t want to be messed with when eating and will also push other dogs out of their bowl if given the chance. I need him to move away from something he is actively eating without trying to take it from him or needing to move into his space. He would at the very LEAST nip if someone who a tried (myself included) to grab his bowl or a high value bone/chew from him.
•
I know I will always need to manage these situations carefully, it’s who he is which is SUPER confident dog who is willing to use his mouth to make a point. I also don’t blame him for not wanting to have his food messed with. BUT… I need to have the ability to safely move him away from food/bones/etc.
•
We spent the first half of his meal working fun stuff down in motion, spin, middle in motion, right heel in motion, place, park… the second half I placed the bowl down and he could eat from the bowl only when given the cue “take it” and then stop when prompted “out”. Im pairing the leash pressure, ecollar pressure and my voice to paint a clear picture of what I want.

He does fantastic not eating until told but coming off of the bowl is harder. He’s not aggressive (in this situation) just reluctant. The goal is I can verbal out him from the bowl but the reality is (which I’m also I am okay with) I will always need a leash or ecollar on in these situations. It’s great for he and I to build this trust and relationship around food.

A little highlight of the power of the pack. Winston is such a great guy with some leash reactivity. He’s been coming with us for almost 2 months now. He went from getting stuck fixating on the other pack walking but or moving towards them, to not caring at all! He also made some new FURiends who he loves to play with.
