When considering choosing a cavalier for your new family member please do your research. These are amazing dogs and will bring you so much joy. That being said as cavalier owners we must know that the breed does come with some health risks that we take every precaution to avoid. Just like hip problems or skin problems in other breeds, Cavaliers are susceptible to MVD (Mitral Valve Disease) All of our dogs have been screened yearly for this but there is NO guarantee that all offspring will be clear of it for life. Our Mission- To make sure puppies grow up into behaviorally healthy, happy dogs that make great lifetime companions for you and your family
- We start our puppies on a sound socialization program as early as 2 weeks old. They are exposed to all of the sounds that they might encounter in their everyday lives.
-Thunderstorms
-Children/Babies playing or crying
-Everyday kitchen sounds (Pots/Pans slamming)
-Other dogs barking
These noises are typically the exact type of stimuli that would cause a non socialized dog to become reactive. Here @ MRO we do our best to expose our puppies to all of these things before they ever leave for their new homes. This program is known to create more happy, behaviorally healthy and well adjusted pups than if just raised in a quiet environment. We urge you to continue your puppies socialization once you get him/her home. Exposing him/her to Parks, Kids, Strangers, and all sorts of new sights can only make him/her a more well adjusted companion for your family.
