Thank you again to all the businesses who donated. We truly can’t thank you all enough. Our rescue is getting so busy, we are getting surrender requests weekly now. Due to these donations, we were able to apply for our 501(c) status which will be huge help moving forward 💜

✨LAST DAY FOR AUCTION AND RAFFLES✨
Happy Adoption day to Rump, Elvis, and Presley (Guinea pigs), Persephone 🐹 and Rosie (chinchilla)!

🌟It’s now final biddings and raffle tickets! One hour left! 🌟 I will announce winners at 6pm and will be here until 6:30-7pm for those that want to get their prizes! They can also be picked up next week during store hours. We also chose our winners for the day for the free raffles! Rose Segura and Johnathan Perez!

I am sooo happy for all these floofs. Rosie was with us for almost a year and it was a wonder why. She is incredibly sweet, loves attentions and scritches! Persephone is the last of our hamsters that were surrendered in December when local pet store sold pregnant hamster to a customer. Rump is the male who was attacked after he was abandoned at a local park here. He fully healed and bonded to Elvis and Presley! Elvis and Presley really warmed up and welcomed him so that helped Rump come out of his shell.

Huge THANK YOU to everyone who donated items from our Amazon wishlist for the animals — Kagome sends a big thank you to Nina and Heather especially! These items are so helpful and appreciated!

We also want to thank everyone who came out to help and celebrate our ribbon cutting with us. It still blows our minds that we started nearly 10 years ago in a tiny one-bedroom apartment… and now here we are. We couldn’t have made it without the incredible support of our friends, family, and team. You’ve been with us through every step — and we’re so grateful.

Special shoutout to Jennifer for baking the most amazing goodies for the event! And a big thank you to Jackie for coming by — your support today meant the world to us.

Congratulations to today’s free raffle winner-maevemoore 🥳Also reminder this Friday is our ribbon cutting at 11:30am. We will have some of our animals for meet n greet then! 💜 This week we have rabbits, Guinea pigs and 1 cockatiel available for adoption at event. Please fill out applications online if wanting to adopt! We have 2 chinchillas finally potentially pending adoption as well-Blink and Rosie 😄 but Violet still needs her forever home. I’ve officially submitted the application for our 501(c)(3) nonprofit status! We have been non profit in OK, this is for federal level. Now it’s just waiting — they mentioned it could take a couple of months to hear back, but I’ll be sure to keep everyone posted as soon as I get an update.💜

A warm welcome to Willow, Delilah, Bubbles, and Nugget!
These four sweet chins — three girls and one boy — came from two separate homes. As a precaution, the females will be on a 120-day hold to ensure they’re not pregnant.

Unfortunately, not everything went smoothly with the surrenders. One of the families had promised cages and supplies, but when they arrived, the chins had barely anything — and definitely no cages for any of the 4 chins. Thankfully, we had enough spare parts to build a double-level enclosure, but that used up the materials we had reserved for another chin expected to arrive this week. All 4 chinchillas had to go in separate singles levels as females were not bonded and male and females can’t be together. My brother is doing his best to weld bars to retrofit a cage we have, so hopefully we can still make it work.

Also, neither family left behind carriers or functioning water bottles (only one was left, but it was in bad shape). It’s hard not to feel discouraged — I try to approach every situation with compassion and without judgment, but when animals are surrendered without even basic supplies, it’s concerning. I do worry in cases like these that it might be an attempt to make space for new pets, which breaks my heart. Animals are a lifetime commitment. I completely understand that unexpected life changes happen, but rehoming should never be a shortcut to getting “new” pets.

We’ve now used up all of our spare water bottles and are also short on carriers. We are making more supplies for them tomorrow-ledges, houses, hammocks etc. I will also be buying carriers. I’m putting together an Amazon wishlist with frequently used supplies we can’t make— things like bedding, food, water bottles, carriers, and bowls — so we can have spares again. If anyone local has any gently used items they’d be willing to donate, we would be so grateful!

Our priority is always making sure every chinchilla finds a safe, loving forever home.

Happy Adoption Day, Hope! 🐹💜
She is the first of guinea pigs that were rescued after being found abandoned in a local park to be adopted. When she came to us, she was extremely underweight and had a fishing line tied around her neck. It was heartbreaking to think what she had been though. Thanks to lots of care here, she’s gained weight and built some trust.
We’re so relieved that she wasn’t pregnant, and even more excited to share that she went to her forever home today with Bella! Bella has adopted from us before and is an incredible guinea pig mom. I can’t wait for Hope to meet her new sisters, Betty and Dolly, who were also adopted from us last year.

Welcome to the rescue, Nala and Nikki!
These two girls were surrendered by their owner, who made the very difficult, but responsible decision to let them go. Due to unexpected life changes, she realized she could no longer provide the time or potentially expensive vet care they might need. It’s never easy to part with pets you love, but her honesty and thoughtfulness are so appreciated. She took the time to find a place that would truly care for the. She had others offering to take them in but she didn’t feel comfortable because they didn’t have the knowledge or resources to provide proper care. That kind of dedication showed how deeply she loves them. Surrendering isn’t always a sign of failure—it’s sometimes a very selfless and loving choice. Some people who surrender their pets just want what’s best for them, with no expectation of making any money back. Even though they definitely could.
Nala and Nikki are healthy, clearly well-loved, and were given excellent care thanks to all the research and learning their owner did. As always, we’re putting them on a short hold to monitor their health, learn about their personalities, and ensure we find the perfect home for them.
