Milkers available starting in January. (But not this one…BD is here to stay.)

If you are wanting a doe in milk, we suggest getting on the list. This year does will kid and be dried relatively quickly if we aren’t showing and they don’t have a home waiting. Due to time constraints all does not on the show list will be dried within a few weeks of kidding and most kids will be available within a week. If you wait too long, we will get attached to the new babies, decide dry does are easy to manage and end up keeping them all….again. Get on the list and we will notify you each time a doe or kid is available.

Some exciting news….CH Cherry Tree Time to Shine finished her championship as a FF 2yo and then placed 17th at the national show. We were so excited for this doe and her future in our alpine program. Then….against all efforts, she failed to settle as a 3yo. We were thoroughly disappointed. ☹️.

This year she cycled three times and finally we have an ultrasound confirmed pregnancy for TTShine. She is bred to Cherry Tree Golden Vegas, (Lady K Ashe Vegas X Maple Wind Stay Golden). We are excited to see these babies and fingers crossed all continues as planned.

We have 3 Saanen does that will be coming two year olds so we have decide that At Last may deserve to be in a new herd. She is confirmed bred to Jen-Mae-Ka Kids Justice and due late March.

Her dam appraised an 88 as a 2yo and her dam’s dam appraised an 89 as a 2yo. Both her maternal DS and DD are permanent champions.

Her kids should be excellent show prospects and while we expect great things from her, she would be lost in the weeds here having two herd mates in the same class that we have a stronger connection to keep and show.

If you are looking for a great start to a Saanen project or just another addition to your Saanens please reach out.

Sneak peak on a few confirmed pregnancies on our girls.....

Cherry Tree Asteria is confirmed bred to Hedge Hollow Pepperkorn. This is a line breeding on the 2014 Reserve National Champion Misty Moonlight from the Hoanbu herd. We are excited to see these Littles arrive. (Pictured: 1-Asteria and 3-Twixie, a Pepperkorn daughter).

Woest-Hoeve GB Lilly is confirmed bred to Blissberry Mr. Goodbar. Lilly is a stylish doe that has all the right parts and pieces but may never do great in a show simply because she does NOT enjoy it. We love her kids and are excited about this breeding. (Pictured: 2-Lilly)

Both breedings were designed to give us a junior herdsire so let's see what happens.

A real country girl hauls the milk stand home in the back of her car!! Glad to have her back for a week!!

The OSU PAMS did a wonderful job helping us with some herd maintenance. We had 14 students at the house and plenty of work. We spent 5 hours with the goats in less than ideal weather.

We were able to collect 75 blood samples, did some general data gathering, ultrasounded about 25 goats and AI’d another 14. Lots of valuable information shared and lots of great students eager to work on goats in their future. The goat industry will be in good hands!!

Although Kenzie and Bri didn’t AI any does with the students, they got to repeat 8 breedings on does that were still in heat the next morning.

Productive weekend and looking forward to next year already.

Now to convince the students to come back if all these does are confirmed pregnant and due the same day!!!

This weekend is going to be busy as we host the Okalhoma State University College of Vet Med Production Animal Medicine Society from Stillwater, OK. Over a dozen students are coming to help with some herd health and to learn more about being a small ruminant practitioner. We all know how we need good goat vets and we are doing our part to try and make that happen.

Stay tuned for our breeding results as they will be ultrasounding our does as well as AI'ing the remaining does, along with multiple other chores that happen on goat farms.

While we have been back from OKC for a bit and are prepping for Tulsa, we are still so proud of the 8 girls we took to show. We had an array that included 3 milkers, 2 senior yearlings and 3 kids. They did not disappoint us.

We had a good time, got to visit the birth center and both nana and papa were there with us. Kate and Kenzie got to come visit for a day or two between classes. So a trip well worth the drive.

One more show to go and the girls will be dry, the bucks will be out to work and we will start planning next years adventures.
