TDX tracks are my favorite.
I love to watch the dogs work through all the obstacles.
This is my final judging assignment for this year. I'm looking forward to some rest during the next few months. 👍👍

Interesting read..

Interessanter Artikel über eine Studie der Universität Oslo über die Fähigkeit der Hunde, die Richtung einer Spur zu bestimmen.
Getestet wurde mit Tracking-Dogs, also Fährtenhunden, die mit tiefer Nase suchen auf Gras und Asphalt.
Aber das Ergebnis spricht für sich.
Nach nur rund vier Metern (2-5 Schritte) auf der Fährte konnten sie die Richtung klar definieren.
Wenn man überlegt, wie gering der Altersunterschied des "Geruchs" auf diesen wenigen Metern ist, kann man sich vielleicht ungefähr vorstellen, wie gigantisch die Nasenleistung unserer Vierbeiner ist....

Yeah! Beginning on July 1st, both TD and TDX lessons will be starting back up again at my regular fields. 🐾🐾

The Lenape Tracking Club of New Jersey is having a tracklayer certification seminar on Sunday July 30th, 9am-1pm, in Pittstown, NJ, fee $10 ($5 back if "passing" all portions.) Learn how to use field markers, distance markers, walk a straight line, find your corners and more... No dogs are used in this seminar, only you as a tracklayer. Learn how to lay a proper track & not get lost out in the field. Information on the flyer below.

Busy day today!!
*VST track in for Felon today & he did a great job.
*Certified a beautiful GSD today. He did a great job on a windy cold day.
*Worked some obedience at the pet store while we picked up supplies.
*Felon had a well deserved ice cream pup cup.

Lenape Tracking Club will be holding a 6 track mock VST match in November. Regulation tracks, draw for working order, with the opportunity to complete your track with or without assistance from the judge. Reward your dog as you see fit.
Flyer with entry instructions is posted on the LTC website. Great training/proofing opportunity.
