This green has a little kick related to arugula or mustard greens, and has an amazing color perfect for any salad or omelette!

Making a big ol’ pot of Creole Louisiana red beans and rice tonight. I’m no “bon vivant” of southern cuisine, and obviously my brunoise skills have faded over the last 15 years, 👨🏼🍳 🤷🏻♂️ but this smells like heaven. ✨ And YES, I used big ass kidney beans instead of smaller red beans but the only thing else we have are Sea Island Peas and they’d disintegrate into mush. Pressure canning the leftovers so we have something when the zombies 🧟♂️ in Conyers come for us… 😉 Be well folks!

I moved here from Old Fourth Ward in Atlanta — exactly 1,120 days ago — after living in ATL for almost 20 years. Although these tree frogs are just as loud and plentiful in the city, I really didn’t hear them until I was OTP. I wasn’t used to the *silence* of the country, which is anything but silent. I couldn’t sleep unless there was a firetruck or siren blasting down Ralph McGill or Boulevard. These are the new sirens. I sleep better now, with the hundreds of amphibians performing their lullabies every night.
Of all the things I can imagine making with the pumpkins we grow, churros wasn't on my mind. Delicious! Chefs keep blowing my mind with their creativity. Our last of the season pumpkins were served up last night at Minero Atlanta in Ponce City Market for their pop-up. No more pumpkins until after Labor Day Weekend! :)

Thousands of birds swarmed the trees this afternoon. No clue why, but the only time you saw them was when they all flew off together en masse.
