One of our smallest patients to date… a baby bat pup. Its eyes are not open yet so he is estimated to be less than 10 days old. He will be going to Carrie Newell (Carrie’s Rehab Critters) tomorrow. In the meantime, Gayla has been patiently feeding it every 2 hours with puppy milk replacer and a small paintbrush. Never a dull moment around here!
Please note- we do NOT recommend picking up any wildlife without proper precautions…especially our bat friends!

We had the honor of returning this guy to the wild. His new home is at Webster Reservoir with other white pelicans. Once he realized he was free to go, he didn’t hesitate.

Carrie Newell brought us our first pelican. He was picked up near Redford about 10 days ago. After some TLC, this guy was ready to be released. Please consider supporting Carrie’s Rehab Critters- she does AMAZING work!

Successful rehabilitation of a juvenile Great Horned Owl by Carrie Newell and Carrie’s Rehab Critters. This was the owl that had baling twine wrapped around his right foot. After much care and TLC, Carrie gave us the honor of releasing him back into the wild. He didn’t hesitate to take flight! Please consider supporting Carrie and her many, many, wildlife creatures!
