Theirs a big difference in dogs that just don’t know how to behave and one with bad habits. Bad habits are hard to break.

Ellie has had problems getting along with her sister. I have been working with her and made up a game today. Ellie on right our Millie on the right and Muppy in the back. I was playing rapid fire catch the treats. When ever someone missed Muppy got one. All dogs stayed still and behaved they focused on me, they know I am the leader. Their is even a toy between them.

Most people know that dogs live in a pack structure. The biggest problem I see is most people don't even realize. that the dog ends up being the leader. This causes most of the problems PEOPLE complain about. Pulling on the leash, no recall, jumping ect, Dogs are not born knowing how to act in a human world so they do the things that come natural. If you love your dog as much as most say they do, please give your dog the respect it deserves and treat it like a dog. You must be the leader/boss of the pack. It is not your BABY ! Your dog will listen, and love and respect you far more if you are the leader. Never walk behind your dog, walk side by side, both doing what you were born to do. Walk side by side with respect and love for each other. BE THE LEADER !!!!

A new student arrived yesterday. Her name is Delta, she is 10 months old. I will be working on all the basics and jumping on people. If you have known me for a long time you know I have a special love for yellow Labs. I’m really excited about this pup.

Sammy is back for another 2 weeks of training. The last time he came it took me 3 days to handle him. Today it’s just like he left yesterday. He is doing so good. If your dog came to training and is not acting the same way it did the day it came home ,it has not forgotten anything. It is you that needs more lessons. Schedule some private lessons so we can get you on the same page as your pup.

Rocco and Ringo are here for a couple days while their family goes on vacation. Guess who is a Big Rock k9. Rocco sable and Ringo Black and tan.

Day 11 Ava is doing really well in her obedience even started off leash.(have video will share later) She is fine with strangers at any distance but we are still working on strangers touching her. She does not trust them. This is the hardest part because volunteers for reactive dogs are hard to find. I’ll keep working with her and hopefully she’ll get better.

Day 8 with Ava. We went out training and then we went to her Vet. We went to see how she reacted in a place where she had been bad. The muzzle was just a precaution but it turned out I don’t think we needed it. The vet tech even handled her on the leash for a minute.

Day 7 with Ava. I give her lots of challenges to build her confidence. I am also being a strong confident leader for her. I give her lots of obedience and commands to stay in her head and let her know she has to follow. Her obedience is doing really good and her sit stays are building ,she is having lots of fun.

It is with great sadness that I have to let you know that I lost my boy Fritz last night. I was not expecting it and it came way to soon. He was the foundation of Big Rock K9 and I built it around him. Fritz and I learned so much together and he tought me so much. He has given so many of you great pups to live on in his name. Please give them all lots of love,treats and hugs today for their great sire Fritz vom Haus Schair. He was a once in a life time dog and is greatly missed.😢😭

Arya day 14 and she is allowing someone else to handle her. She has made great progress and now we work with mom and dad to keep her going in the right direction.
