It's almost spring Project time.. whose looking for a nice young prospect to start this spring?? Shockingly Reba and Sid are still available.🤯
Reba is a beautiful bay filly who will be 2 in the spring. She has all the chrome and legs for days.. talk about a dressage/jumping prospect!! We do believe she is warmblood as she has some markings like a Clydesdale. (Belly spots and roaning) She is halter broke, stands for farrier, ties, been hauled a couple times, had a Surcingle on, and wears a winter blanket.. she should mature to 16+ hds.

Sid is also gonna be 2 early summer. Sorrel with flaxen mane and tail. He's gonna be a looker and he's a smooth mover too. He's getting chunky but will probably mature to 15 hds. He is halter broke, stood for farrier, wears a winter blanket w/hood and is really wanting attention. He is still cautious of new people but will still follow you around like a stalker. Lol
Both would make great additions to any home.

In anticipation of the winter storms and polar vortex, we have devoted several days to preparation, resulting in substantial winter expenses due to the sizable number of horses under our care. The barn is currently housing its full capacity of horses, with lean-tos filled with straw, round bales strategically placed as windbreaks, tank heaters in every tank, the barn heater reinstalled, and each horse protected from the weather with a blanket, some also having neck covers. We are feeling drained. Your charitable donations are instrumental in helping us shield and provide essential care, including warmth, nutrition, and health services, to the horses. Having been a racehorse, Mauro was likely never exposed to harsh weather conditions, so he was the first to come in.
We have been so busy, I didn't have time to take pics. Prayers for all our horse friends and other rescues also dealing with the storms.

Emilio had his vet visit and X-rays done yesterday.. unfortunately our thoughts of laminitis were right. He has 18° and 21° rotation. The abscesses are also some of the worst we have seen. He had so much debris in his hooves and rocks stuck in creases. They are now cleaned, packed and padded up with frog pumps to help with circulation in his feet. This lil 14 hd boy is a saint. He was perfect at the vet. He will have a long recovery, but we will do our absolute best to keep him comfortable and hopefully be able to fix some of the rotation with corrective shoeing and get the abscesses healed up. The farrier will be next.
Anything helps, whether its a $1 or $100. He needs all the help he can get to make sure he gets the treatment he deserves. 🙏🏼🙌🏼

Emilio is enjoying his padded stall! 🙌🏼 His antiinflammatories are helping him feel much better but he definitely still has his ouchy face on..😢 the last picture shows the abscess across the whole sole of his foot. That was before we cleaned, packed, and wrapped him. We will change his bandages tomorrow and hopefully be able to take his other shoe off and check that foot as well. Thank you all for continuing support.. we are still raising funds for his vet visit that I'll be scheduling Monday for X-rays.

Please Welcome our new member of Angel Wings Equine Rescue .. A WAR HORSE!! He is 9 yrs old ottb. He's about 17.2. He is absolutely stunning.. like all rescue horses, they all have a story. He was raced till last year. Won a lot of money on the track. Started retraining and that owner fell on bad times. He was not taken care of, so he was taken in by a woman who has spent time and TLC getting him back to health. He still has some room to get better but is loving all of the attention..
Talk about a very beautiful mover, talk, dark, and handsome!!!

He's very handy broke. I wish these horses talked. I would love to know where he came from and what his story is.

Our beloved Prince found his forever home for Christmas!!! He is absolutely adored by his new family.. We love getting videos and updates..

Emilio was rescued from a local sale barn on Friday night.. he was barely able to stand and was in soooo much pain. After some weekend TLC and antiinflammatories, his shoes were removed, abscesses were exposed, and X-rays were performed. He has been suffering from laminitis for a little while. We have a plan of treatment and have started his journey to recover. Please pray for him. And if you are able to help with his recovery funds, please donate. He will have a long recovery and if he can't be healed completely we will do what we can to make sure he lives a happy life. He is only about 5 yrs old. Emilio arrived late last night after we were notified he was done at the auction. Not wanting to get up.. he managed to pull some strength together to go through the sale and we saved him!! We are still waiting to get an appointment for him Monday at the vets for X-rays, but we do know his really bad lame foot has an abscess across his whole toe.. he is in so much pain but we have him comfortable and he's been able to stand most of the day. Please pray for him.. help us get him the best care by donating .. Sacred Journey::: Look at our girl!!! She trusted us enough to walk out to the round pen with us. Took our time and steps at a time but she was very good.. she really likes the sanctuary of her stall but now she can see the other horses for a bit and know she is not alone. She keeps coming over for butt scratches. And hangs out with me.. she's so special. I'm so happy and proud of her. Step by step.

Well, our girl has been standing for 5 hours already. The vet was just here and journey was all over the place, walking forward, backwards, sideways and all during her treatment and exam. She's eating, drinking, pooping, and peeing all standing up. She was treated for EPM as a precautionary, so she will be on meds all week long. Although she is doing great, she's not out of the woods as she spent a lot of time on the ground. Y'all helped us get her home, and we are so appreciative to all your support. She went from a very wild filly to one who looks for you to be next to her in just 2 days. I know she's already part of my heart.. y'all , I'm so happy right now that she's been standing so long on her own. 💗💗💗💗 #angelwingsequinerescue #horserescue #donate #equinerescue

Journey was rescued from a local sale after she was unable to get up after a long, packed trailer ride from Wyoming, where she was ripped from her home and her family at one of the big reservation round ups. She went down after arrival and laid down, crawling around all day and night till the sale.
