👀😮We broke ground on clearing out the trees for more pasture!!! Yay!!
I've been so excited. This is A huge expense.. but wow we need more room for the horses🐴, so it has to be done. We have only been able to use half of our land due to all of these trees. We are keeping a few good and non-toxic trees for shade trees. I can't wait till it's cleared and we can put up the fence row to turn out the horses. This will tremendously help us with our hay bill when the horses can be out grazing. Please consider helping us get this huge project finished so we can provide more open spaces for the rescue horses.

Rescue!! We cry a lot in Rescue.😭 Mostly from the heartache of rescuing.
💗💗But these are happy tears! 💗💗
🐴Emilio came to us Dec 27, unable to walk and laid down all times of the day. He was suffering from laminitis and extremely bad abscesses.. This is 6 (six) weeks later. He has been improving everyday!!
Prayers we can keep him moving in the right direction. He's only 6 yrs old and has the rest of his life ahead of him.
Your contributions help us continue to help more horses like Emilio. Without you, we couldn't do it.

Project has been pushed back to start Friday 2/14/25 and go till 2/21/25. The weather will be better.

🚜 Big Project at Angel Wings Equine Rescue! 🐴🔥

Exciting news! We will have an excavator at the rescue starting tomorrow for a whole week to clear out more pasture space for our rescue horses. This means more room for them to roam, graze, and just be horses!

We could really use some extra hands to help burn tree piles and build a fence line. If you’re available and willing to lend a hand, we’d be incredibly grateful!

What a busy week it's been. We took in a whole herd of registered miniature horses, ages ranging from 3 to 27 yrs old. Heights from 28" to 38". They all need their teeth done and their feet done badly.. they are extremely overgrown. There is a lil tiny stallion also, I'll get pics later. He's not in the best shape and has been getting special care since he arrived. His teeth are very bad with needle sharp points. They will be going to the dentist next week and the farrier will have his work cut out for him.
We took them in to be sure they didn't end up through the sales and in the kill pens. Your help is greatly needed to get these beautiful lil mini's to better health and to safe homes.

Our beloved lil Reba was adopted last week.. we sure do miss her but we absolutely love updates!! She is doing well and a happy baby. She is going to be such a beautiful girl. Thank you for adopting!!!💞💖

We have 2 older geldings ready for adoption.. both are very broke and gentle.
Rusty is close to 20 yrs old. He is a red roan gelding and has a heart of gold. He was used as a beginners play day horse a few years ago then went to a family who trail rode him. He came back to the rescue when the new owner sadly passed away. He is husband safe and kid safe. He is a light riding guy due to a past injury a long time ago but would be good for someone to just putt putt around on. We have had X-rays done on him, recently got his dental done, vaccinations are needed in the spring and he's current on deworming.

Percy is an 18 yr old Sorrel gelding who came to us in a very emaciated state. After some good food, adjusting his metabolic syndrome, and TLC he bloomed into a fabulous old timer who we discovered is extremely broke. Easy to ride and very sweet guy.
Both live on alfalfa cubes and senior feed. They do have expired teeth and need the softer foods to keep good weight.. please message the page for more information. Don't miss out on these wonderful geldings.

Yesterday I was contacted by a woman asking us to come pick up 3 horses who had "been dumped on her property ". After asking some questions it was discovered they were only there since the morning time. She wouldn't reach out to any law enforcement, actually refused to get law enforcement involved as to report found horses. She just wanted us to come pick them up ASAP. She didn't know who they belonged to, but was certain they were dumped horses, wearing raggy blankets. I told her in order for us to pick them up we would have to get law enforcement involved.. we couldn't just pick up horses without a report of where they were going, incase someone was to reach out for them. she then got mad and said nevermind she would get rid of them herself.. I pray for these horses, as she has blocked us.
But people, we are not thieves, we will not just come take horses from a property without doing it legally. She has many rescues closer to her but wanted us to drive 3+ hours to pick up horses that were not hers to be giving away. Law enforcement has a lot on their plate, this would have been an easy pick up if we could have just let law enforcement take a report. We could have held these horses for a period of time and waited for "owners" to be found. We've done it before. But she threw a fit and said absolutely not getting law enforcement involved. So please, if you ever find horses or livestock shows up on your property, please just call and make a report. After that, if you are not able to care for said livestock, then you can find placement for them.

Since we got so much snow, Emilio took advantage of some Ice Therapy!! After a good trimming, corrective angles and relief of pressure of the abscesses he's able to move a bit better.. ice therapy really works too. Look at him go!

Oh Lucille!!
This stunning lil red roan registered yearling Tennessee walking filly is still available!!!! 🤷🏼‍♀️Why? She will be a really nice addition to any herd. Her papers are pictured. She has a smooth gait.. easy to handle. Stands for farrier, loads and unloads easy, she's been loving her winter blanket and was body clipped at weaning. She does have a fractured sesamoid bone in her left hind, but without X-rays you wouldn't know. She is sound on it.. The vet says she should be fine as a light trail riding horse or broodmare. Talk about a cool looking TWH filly that should mature to 15.2+.

It's almost spring Project time.. whose looking for a nice young prospect to start this spring?? Shockingly Reba and Sid are still available.🤯
Reba is a beautiful bay filly who will be 2 in the spring. She has all the chrome and legs for days.. talk about a dressage/jumping prospect!! We do believe she is warmblood as she has some markings like a Clydesdale. (Belly spots and roaning) She is halter broke, stands for farrier, ties, been hauled a couple times, had a Surcingle on, and wears a winter blanket.. she should mature to 16+ hds.

Sid is also gonna be 2 early summer. Sorrel with flaxen mane and tail. He's gonna be a looker and he's a smooth mover too. He's getting chunky but will probably mature to 15 hds. He is halter broke, stood for farrier, wears a winter blanket w/hood and is really wanting attention. He is still cautious of new people but will still follow you around like a stalker. Lol
Both would make great additions to any home.

In anticipation of the winter storms and polar vortex, we have devoted several days to preparation, resulting in substantial winter expenses due to the sizable number of horses under our care. The barn is currently housing its full capacity of horses, with lean-tos filled with straw, round bales strategically placed as windbreaks, tank heaters in every tank, the barn heater reinstalled, and each horse protected from the weather with a blanket, some also having neck covers. We are feeling drained. Your charitable donations are instrumental in helping us shield and provide essential care, including warmth, nutrition, and health services, to the horses. Having been a racehorse, Mauro was likely never exposed to harsh weather conditions, so he was the first to come in.
We have been so busy, I didn't have time to take pics. Prayers for all our horse friends and other rescues also dealing with the storms.
