since 1973 and located in the foothills of Appalachia, we’re one of the largest preserves in Southern Ohio and our rugged terrain is enough to test the most avid hunter. In addition to the hunts offered on our property, we book African game safaris. From impala or leopards to crocodiles and klipspringer, or whether you’re a rifle or a bow hunter, we cater to all interests and skill sets. We also offer our own expert taxidermy services for both exotic and African trophies. All game taken here and on safari can be mounted at very reasonable and competitive rates.

Conner, Garrett and I just returned from a fishing trip with our good friend Shane Massey and Doubled Up Striper Guide. We had a fantastic time fishing Kerr Lake, NC. Shane worked hard for three days to put us on lake stripers, plus we caught channel cats, one blue cat, a largemouth, and a white perch. What a great trip! We highly recommend Doubled Up Striper Guide if you are looking for a fun fishing adventure.

I am a few days late doing this post, but, we are officially closed for the season (but, who knows what might happen during the summer 😉). We are supremely grateful for all the wonderful folks who hunted with us, liked our pages (over 1,500 on Facebook now), commented, shared, and who have contributed to our 51 years of success. We are humbled, we are blessed, and we don't intend to stop! Thank you all, we truly appreciate you.

Fishing is as good as it’s going to be in the Saginaw Bay right now. Lots of people are pulling limits with no real secret spots. My buddies in Linwood pulled limits doing something totally different than we did when we got ours out of Sebewaing. Fish are even up past North Island on the East side. We got ours in an hour and 15 minutes this morning. Phil took his 40 in no time. It’s not always this good or fast but it is right now.

We have openings Monday-Wednesday this upcoming week, then, a few spots June 10-17th. We have rooms for individuals or groups up to 6. $100/person. Captain Craig

Evie and Brad were out for a hunt today. This good looking dude gave them a chase, but, eventually Evie was able to put her arrow right in the boiler room. A wonderful couple that we thoroughly enjoyed meeting and having here.

Thurman came down with his uncle Gary on the recommendation of two different clients (who don't know each other) and had a great hunt. Gary used a rifle on his two animals, and Thurman went old school and hunted with a longbow. A couple of real nice fellows who we now call friends.

Craig and his son Toby came down on the recommendation of our good friend Grant. We had a great hunt, and Toby made his arrow count when the opportunity presented itself. Craig operates Tail Annihilator Guide Service in Michigan, so if you are looking for a waterfowl hunt, give him a call!

Fishing season is here! We don't do fish mounts at our shop, but, we have an experienced taxidermist that we work with that can do one for you. I just need the length, girth, and species. Pictures are also helpful for matching the pattern. Yes, these are reproductions, but, as many bigger fish are released anyway, this works out well. My person can also do saltwater species. So, if you land a big one and wish for a replica made, call or message me for a quote!

Another fun day at Greenup Dam. There were not as many big fish, but, we still caught our limit. More Sauger were caught there than I have ever seen, however, most were thrown back because of being too small. Garrett caught the first Walleye I have ever seen out of the Ohio River. I knew they were there, I had just not seen one. We fished through a rain shower, and I was involved in an incident unique in my experience. A guy down the way caught a striper, and I caught him too! The fish had bitten both baits! Extremely hungry? Death wish? Going out on his own terms? It's hard to say, lol.

The birds were gobbling good this morning, but, refused to show themselves anywhere near close enough. A hen between them and us wasn't helping. Garrett and I did see one hen, who seemed nonchalant about our proximity, and, one confused young mister who apparently wasn't sure what he was seeing, as it didn't equate to what he was hearing.

Beautiful weather and some great guys made for some fun hunting today. Two different groups, but, everyone is having a fine time together. We are certainly looking forward to when these fellows return for their second trip with us.

Mike brought his son Kaiden for his first hunt with us. He made a great shot on his nice Mouflon Ram. He said he was nervous, but, I told him that is ok, we all get that way 🙂

Jeff and his friend Tim were also hunting with us yesterday. Jeff and his brother Jim had their first trip back in 1982. We were all a lot younger than, lol, but, the years have brought us many memories together. The two groups got along swimmingly, as good people always do. A great weekend 🙂.

Gatling Gun fun!

A Winchester Model 10, caliber 401 WSL (Winchester Self Loading), I bought nearly 2 years ago, finally getting to shoot it for the first time. Getting cases was the issue. Shooting a 100 plus year old rifle for the first time in 🤷. The two rounds Conner and I fired failed to eject, but, I gave it some oily love, which should help. It's always fun shooting a piece of history.

We are officially closed for the season, and we want to thank all of our clients and friends who hunted with us this year. February marked our 48th year of continuous operation. We have met and continue to meet so many wonderful people, we are truly blessed. This is Mollia getting a shot at her Black Hawaiian Ram after a lengthy cat and mouse. Her dad's reaction, Dana, is priceless. Now, it's no mystery, I'll wager, to anyone that prices on everything have gone up, and, unfortunately, we will have to increase our rates next season. We haven't hashed out yet what it will be, but, when we do I will advise. Please have a safe and great summer!
