LA session or bust - my truck decided to break it's serpentine belt at the last minute with no time to repair it so I had to go to plan B. All the boys had to stay home (optioned out) and the only doe that had to be appraised got to ride in the back of my new Subaru Outback. I think LA is a good tool and sure didn't want to cancel.

5 yr old Rocky Redbird Rdg Sassafras FS 90 VEEE

Sassafras scored 82 +VVG as a 3 year old. I got her last year from Susan Mitchell, Redbird Ridge Farm, and am quite pleased with how she is maturing. Thank you to Andrea Forrest of Forrest Pride for hosting and Patti Black of Nut-N-Honey for also being there with her beautiful sables.

Good news! CAE, Johne's & CL testing completed by WADDL on the whole herd came back negative again this year. I also did TB testing this year and all the goats are negative. The does have been confirmed bred by ultrasound and all are expecting twins. I was going through old boxes & found 3 large boxes of show ribbons. Most were not even written on. But a couple caught my eye: Kids-Too Sable Seely won grand recorded grade in 1995 under judge Sally Callahan. Seely was a sable. GCH Sweetbriar DS Sable Nightshade won a 2003 Best in Show. Nightshade was a sable. Sure brings back some good memories.
