Hello, My name is Koby. I’m almost four years old, and I’ve spent the last year of my life at the shelter. Everyone here tells me how smart I am, and that makes me feel good. I know several tricks and will sit, lay down, shake your hand, and speak on command. Treats help too, of course.
I can be a little shy and timid, so rambunctious, young kids can make me nervous. I like bigger kids though. I like some dogs, but I would need to meet any dog that I might live with. I’m not too fond of cats.
I love being outside, soaking up the sun, and playing. I like going for walks, but I do pull on my leash. I know I would do better with some training though. I also like to lounge around and cuddle.
Being at the shelter, where it is so loud and there is so much going on, for a full year is starting to give me really bad anxiety. The nice people here talked to the vet, and they gave me some medicine. It helps, but I’m still extremely stressed out.
When I’m inside the kennel surrounded by 11 other dogs, I get so worked up that I pace to the point of making my feet bleed. I sometimes bite the kennel bars, and that hurts my mouth. When all of the other dogs start barking, I don’t know what to do, and I try to run and hide in my kennel and hit my head and face on the walls causing injuries to myself.
That probably makes me sound pretty crazy, but I promise you that I am not a bad doggy. The people here set up a nice spot outside during the day where I can get away from all of the noise and commotion. When I’m out there and safe, I’m very calm and relaxed. I just hang out and lay on my bed, happy as can be.
It’s very important for my health and well being that I get to go to a forever home soon. Won’t you please consider giving me that home? I promise you I will be a good and loyal doggy.
Woof, woof,
Koby 🩶
