Whiskey boy update.

I'm so sorry it's been awhile. But this horse has kept me on my toes and it has been an emotional roller coaster but.... I think we're on the uphill swing. He needs to drink more but this snow is helping some! I've been putting his grain in the snow, so thank God for this weather. He did test positive for Epm and has 3 more weeks of meds. I also insisted we put him on pain medication so he's been on that for 3 days! Thank you all for the prayers and thank you God for answering them! That horse is my spirit animal and I'd be lost without him!

March 29th is the only date I have available until September! I'm taking June, July, and August off due to heat being to hard on the moos!

Oh Whiskey River how I love you!

We got a good report from the vet this morning!! His hydration level is at 30% which we expected since he was on fluids... but she said he is drinking on his own!!!! His glucose is at 79 so he's getting good nutrients too!!

Please pray he keeps up the good work once we get him home tonight.

I have been through so much with this horse. He has to feel how much he's loved and I pray he continues fighting for me!

Update on Whiskey.

They have absolutely no idea what's going on with him.

He's dehydrated today. Some numbers look better, others look worse.

We're putting him back on another bag of fluids in hopes it's that little extra needs but he will be coming home tomorrow.

It will be up to him from there💔

Morning update from the vet.

Whiskeys hydration is back to normal. He is out of his bag of fluids so they are going to take the IV out to see what happens. They said he had drank a little by himself and ate some alfalfa by himself. She said he refuses to eat out of their hands. All his numbers looked good when they did his morning blood work. He started his EPM medication.

Please pray that he will start eating and drinking enough by himself so we can bring him home and for answers as to what is causing the behavior so we know how to move forward.

Dropped Whiskey off in Tulsa. It was so hard leaving him there. He was 45% dehydrated so I know I made the right choice. Just praying they can figure out what's wrong with him.

I've been out in the pasture all night and day with our little buddy. I'm trying to get electrolytes and soaked food and grain in him. We'll be heading to Tulsa early in the morning if I don't see any improvements tonight. We will be starting treatment for EPM tomorrow as well. I've decided not to wait for the test results.

Update on our Whiskey boy.

We left the hospital at 2 am this morning.
His liver numbers were a little high and his calcium was low but everything else looked decent.

His ultrasound showed some blockage in his right side intestine.

His fever had gone down and he did eat some hay after my vet gave him a shot of Benjamin. (No idea how to spell it)

They're treating for colic, but didn't have to tube him or give him IVs last night, so I'm hoping we caught it early.

They're sending off blood today to confirm their thoughts of having EPM. They think that's what's causing his mobility issues in his back legs, and possibly his vision.

He's in the BEST possible care and I didn't hear from them, which she said no news is good news!

We stated in Tulsa and hopefully we get to bring him home today or tomorrow.

Thank you to my husband who didn't even blink when the vet said at 7pm you guys gotta go to Tulsa!

As 2024 closes, most of us take time to reflect and refocus.

This year I'm most grateful for my tribe. Owning a small business is harder than I could have imagined. Doing it with a FT job and family, sometimes feel impossible.

My tribe encourages me when I want to give up, and some of you, have became a part of my tribe.

I'm grateful for everything the good Lord gave me in 2024 and praying 2025 provides growth, love, health, and maybe a new cow🤣🤣
