I’ll never forget the gelding who stopped cantering.

He had suffered a shoulder injury, while cleared for riding, he was asymmetrical and the saddle dug into that atrophied shoulder causing him pain.

After evaluation, we tried a shim pad on him, filled that gap his atrophied should had left helped the saddle balance on him relieving the pressure and pain he had been in.

Had the owner mount up after the change and he ASKED to canter after only a few moments being ridden. Like he wanted to say how grateful he was for the pain relief.

That’s the power of the right fit. It doesn’t just change your ride. It changes your relationship.

Why does finding a saddle that fits feel impossible?
It’s not because you’re doing anything wrong. It’s because most saddles on the market today are still built to fit a “standard” tree shape that doesn’t match the wide variety of horses we ride.
Think about it:
• Gaited breeds, Arabians, Quarter Horses, mules — no two backs are the same.
• Horses change shape with conditioning, age, and even seasons.
• Yet most saddles don’t account for those changes, leaving you frustrated (and your horse uncomfortable).
If you’ve gone through saddle after saddle, you’re not alone. The problem isn’t you — it’s the saddle.
That’s why I build saddles that adapt to your horse, not the other way around. Because when the saddle fits you and your horse, everything changes — your horse relaxes, your confidence returns, and the ride finally feels the way it should.
