Happy National Veterinary Technician Week!

This week, we would like to highlight our fantastic techs: Danielle, Kat, and Elena. Technicians are integral to veterinary medicine, and are part of the reason we are able to provide the utmost quality of care to each and every patient.

We have a new partnership with The Veterinary Care Foundation to help us expand our charitable mission. In addition to treating disadvantaged pets that need veterinary care, our clinic’s charitable activities include our scholarship for veterinary students and our financial support for the Town of Stratford's police dogs (pictured here in our clinic with Officer Wright of the Stratford police department). The Veterinary Care Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization accepting tax-deductible donations.

Congratulations to Dr. Liz Layne on her article published in Clinician's Brief!

Top 5 Topical Therapies to Minimize Systemic Antibiotic Use
https://www.cliniciansbrief.com/article/treatment-antibiotics-veterinary-skin

You'll need to create a free account to read the article, so for those who don't want to do that, the therapies are:

1. Chlorhexidine ± Miconazole
2. Corticosteroids
3. Fluorescence Biomodulation
4. Epidermal Barrier Repair
5. Medical Honey

Skin infections in veterinary patients are commonly treated with systemic antibiotics, but topical therapies can be used as well. Try these top five options.
