As one of fourteen attending animal rescues, the goal is to open the lines of communication about animal rescue, answer lingering questions about fostering and hopefully recruit some new foster families in order to help more dogs in need.
Fostering is all about bringing a dog to light!
We were asked to create some shareable posts that reflect upon the "foster experience" and why it's such an instrumental part of helping dogs find their forever families.

❤️ AUGGIE
As an older, brown, pitty mix...covered in scars, AUGGIE had been overlooked at the shelter for months. AUGGIE is the perfect example of why a foster home can be a shelter dog's saving grace.
Jen at Bridgeport, Connecticut Animal Control continued to advocate for AUGGIE, just hoping that a rescue would step up and help her shine. We scheduled a visit and we immediately decided to take AUGGIE with us and place her into one of our amazing foster homes.
Right away we recognized that she had some sort of a leg injury that was impeding on her mobility. It turned out to be a torn ACL...yet another obstacle for this very deserving dog to find a forever home.
We scheduled ACL surgery, fundraised and took plenty of photos and videos of this beautiful girl. We figured she would remain in foster for a loooooong time...but boy were we wrong!
To our surprise, the most amazing family was struck by AUGGIE'S photos and videos and felt compelled to apply for her. The key to matching up dogs with the right homes is being totally transparent about everything. We had an open and honest conversation about her upcoming surgery and that recovery time would be pretty long and grueling. Again to o

📢 Looking for a foster (or adopter) for the SWEETEST little senior boy, SNOW. His owner recently passed away and he needs a safe place to land.
SNOW is just a little guy at 8 lbs.. He is super docile, great with all people with with other pets.
We have updated his basic vet care, and we will be raising funds to get him a much needed dental cleaning ASAP as well!

TANNER is a super handsome male pitty mix, about 2-3 years old and weighs about 60 lbs.
TANNER is dog friendly, people friendly, eager to please, crate and potty trained.
He has definitely been mistreated...he cowers when corrected and it's heartbreaking.
TANNER has been an excellent houseguest in his foster home so far. He tdoes have a quirky side...he was just so proud of himself when he pulled the end of the toilet paper from the holder and tp'd the whole house lol! But that’s the only mischief he’s gotten into so far.
TANNER also loooooves the water...especially when it's coming from the garden hose!
Someone will luck out with this amazing boy. He's super fun-loving and is a GREAT dog!!!

ASIA is a stunning and incredibly smart girl! She is much taller than she looks in pics and videos...she is regal!
She is potty and crate trained (foster mom said she doesn’t even need to be crated).
ASIA is about 2-3 years old and weighs about 65 lbs. She looks like a Shepherd/Dane mix, but your guess is as good as ours!
ASIA is dog friendly and knows lots of commands already like "sit", "paw" and "lay" and probably knows even more! She is smart as a whip and the sky is really the limit with her!
She'll make a great addition to a lucky home...and we are really hoping she finds her forever in time to enjoy the holidays with them!

She gets a case of the zoomies when she's super excited! She is a super sweetheart who is just so grateful for each and every day.
REINA will make an excellent companion dog, she is desperate for someone to see how special she is and to fall in love with her!
