Introducing Aries and Gemini! These ladies joined us today, coming from a not so great environment for them as they had difficulty navigating the hierarchy within their herd, leading to some nutritional deficits resulting in loss of body mass and hair. This was NOT the owner’s fault as they were boarding at a facility and there’s a long story behind it which does not need to be on Facebook. The end result is the owner was able to arrange pick-up and get them here. These girls have a wonderful new play area, high quality feed and hay, and plenty of opportunity for enrichment.

Another LuLu update, I know….I need to be better about posting updates along with those animals in need that have joined us! It makes my heart happy to see Miss LuLu settling into her amazing forever home. She was with us longer than planned as we worked to improve her condition. Some animals stay with us for the rest of their lives and simply have a loving retirement home, others are rehabbed and adopted out. Thank you again to all who helped with Lu.

**UPDATE** these two ladies were adopted out to their forever homes in southern Maine where they joined 2 other goats from Rescue and a Clydesdale from rescue. I’m happy to report they’re settling in nicely!

When Miss June first came into rescue, she was suffering from some nutritional deficits as seen in the first two photos. I’m very happy to report that she and her sister have come a long way as seen in the next few photos and are now ready for their forever homes! Minimal adoption fee, please PM for details.

These 3 ladies were rescued April of 2021 and are now 18 yrs old, 17 yrs old and 9 yrs old! Sadly, their owners (2nd owners) decided they no longer had time. The average alpaca life expectancy is 15-20 years. They’ll finish out their old age surrounded by love and hoofed friends.
