Happy Valentine's Day!
Puppy love is in the air at the New Hampshire SPCA! 💕Roses are red, violets are blue, these puppies (and their mama) need love… could it be from you? 😍 This Valentine’s Day, skip the chocolates and treat yourself to something a little bit sweeter... like one of our adoptable pups!
You might notice that one of these things is not like the other… 🤭😉 Zoe—a sweet-as-pie ✨older✨ puppy—heard some rumblings about how puppies tend to get adopted very quickly. When she pitched the idea of trying to blend in with this litter during their promotional video in hopes of getting some of their good juju, we simply couldn’t say no. And honestly? She kinda nailed it. 💁♀️

We are so excited to host Eden Zook, Animal Intuitive & Medium, at the New Hampshire SPCA next Saturday, February 8! During this gallery-style benefit event, Eden will be intuitively selecting members of the audience and delivering messages from their beloved animal, whether alive or in spirit. Those lucky guests will have the chance to ask their animal their burning question: What’s the root cause of my dog’s anxiety around men? Why has my cat suddenly started sleeping under the bed? How can I better connect with my horse in spirit?
Plus… three people will win a private reading with Eden! Want to throw your name in the hat? You don’t even have to be present to win. Purchase your raffle tickets today for the unique opportunity to connect with your pet… and remember, Eden is donating all proceeds from this event to the animals of the New Hampshire SPCA!💜

A mini horse on a plane? Now that’s not something you see every day! But this past Saturday, that’s exactly what happened.
It all started when our transport coordinator was selecting the lucky dogs and cats who would make the journey up north on a plane ride coordinated by BISSELL Pet Foundation. While scrolling through the transport list, she spotted something unusual: Bruno, a mini horse, was listed among the dogs! Amused, she shared a photo of Bruno with our farm program manager.
To her surprise and delight, the response was enthusiastic: "We have to make this happen!" With some creative planning, Bruno and his foster mom from down south, along with 10 dogs and 5 cats, joined the transport.
One rescheduled flight later, the big day finally arrived. It was time for these 16 animals to travel from sunny Louisiana to snowy Portland, Maine! Despite a snowstorm, our farm team and dedicated volunteers made the trek to the airport to meet the plane and help unload the animals.
As you can see in the video above, Bruno needed a little help stepping off the plane, but he handled it all like a total rockstar!
And here’s the best part: one of our staff members instantly fell in love with Bruno and will be adopting him! As for the 15 dogs and cats who traveled alongside him, they’ve now completed their mandatory quarantine period and are officially available for adoption starting today.
Why not make today the day you meet your new best friend? Meet Maddee, a resilient, 60-pound sweetheart who has come a long way to find her forever home. 💛 After surviving parvo as a young pup, she was adopted, only to be found abandoned nearly a year later with a burn across her back. She healed, was adopted again, and then returned due to no fault of her own.
But... her journey from Texas to New Hampshire marks a fresh start—and we just know her perfect family is out there!
Stop by our Dog Pavilion, and you might notice that Maddee doesn't always present super well in her kennel. But, if given the chance to meet you outside where there aren't as many barking dogs or a large pane of glass keeping her from soaking up all your affection, you'll quickly realize how lovely she is. Simply put, Maddee is a complete joy to be around: she's friendly, playful, and full of charm. She loves toys, especially chewies like bully sticks and stuffed Kongs, and enjoys long walks just as much as cozy cuddles on the couch. 🥰
This lovely girl is ready to be your loyal companion and fill your life with love and joy. Could you be her perfect match? Come by and ask to meet her today!
Our Adoption Center is open from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day except Wednesdays (closed) and we are located at 104 Portsmouth Avenue in Stratham, NH. Hope to see you this weekend!
They say good things are worth waiting for… and we really, really hope Kenzie’s wait is coming to an end soon. This gorgeous 7-year-old mix was surrendered to us when her beloved owner passed away. We’re so thankful she was brought to us so we could find her a family that could help mend her broken heart.
She has waited very patiently for 63 incredibly long days. Kenzie, who isn’t a huge fan of other dogs, is having a hard time in our Dog Pavilion. With each day that passes, we’re seeing this sweet, polite girl start to decline… and we know that what our guests see in the Pavilion is not the dog we have all come to know and love.
So, you know that Kenzie isn’t a fan of dogs… but man, does she adore people! She’s a tender hearted girl who likes spending quality time with her person, and knows a variety of commands. She’s got lots of energy left, and loves to roll around in the grass.
While we have so enjoyed caring for her, we know this is an incredibly stressful place for Kenzie to be, and she deserves having people to curl up with on the couch every night. Can you help make a sweet dog’s day? Come in and ask to take Kenzie for a walk... give her the chance to show you the real her.
If you can’t adopt but want to help a deserving find her family… please, share this post.
Now through Sunday, ALL adoption fees (including Kenzie’s) are 50% off! Our Adoption Center is open 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day except Wednesdays (closed). Tomorrow, Wednesday, June 26, we will be open by appointment only. If you’d like to schedule an appointment to meet Kenzie or any of our other animals, please contact us at (603) 772-2921 ext. 110 or [email protected]
