Salon Announcement:

Marissa has accepted an exciting new job opportunity that will be taking her out of state. We are super proud of her and excited to see where this new path leads, but with this comes the sad news that she will be leaving by our salon. She is taking her last appointments in mid May, so give us a call to get your pup on her schedule one more time before she is off to warmer and sunnier locales. Again, the biggest congratulations to Marissa on this new adventure!

As cases of the new canine respiratory virus continue to arise, we wanted to reach out to our clients to let you know what we are doing to mitigate the chance of transmission in our salon. Being a one on one environment is an advantage for us, but we will be increasing the scope of sanitization between dogs with a cleaner approved for killing viruses. As always, dogs will not interact with each other and we do not offer communal water bowls. We ask that you help us out by waiting outside the door with your pet if there is someone else in the lobby so we have time to sanitize when they leave. Picking up in a timely fashion after the call that your pet is complete will also help us limit the number of dogs in the salon at a time. After speaking with our local vets, we are encouraging everyone to have updated bordetella and canine flu vaccines this season. We also ask that you reschedule your appointment if your pet is showing any signs of illness or has been in a boarding facility within 7 days of your scheduled groom so that we can minimize chances of exposure for the other pets in our care.

We understand this is a scary situation and encourage you to reach out to your veterinarian with any concerns when making decisions about the safety of taking your pet in public until more is known about the virus. However, we will do all we can to make the grooming experience as safe as we can for your pups this holiday season.

Norman would like to let everyone know that there are only 31 appointments left between Kayte and Marissa for the rest of 2023! Appointment slots for larger dogs are extremely limited.

On Monday, Marissa and Kayte were able to take part in a small seminar held in the salon with Groom Team USA member, Elizabeth Gibbs! They had two adorable dogs come in for demos (thanks Ariel and Kupo! 🐶 They were so good!) and then spent the rest of the time doing hands on grooming, practicing with their own dogs. Marissa did a complete overhaul on her dog Benson, with Elizabeth’s guidance. He’s starting to get ready with a new trim for next years grooming competition season! Kayte had her two girls in, and they had a great time with Elizabeth, getting some new tips and tricks to sharpen their look and help everyone else’s pets look their best as well. Such a great opportunity for our groomers! Thank you Elizabeth Gibbs for taking the time to come and teach at our salon!

Last week Marissa was able to attend the Hershey Groom Expo. It was four days of classes with some of the top instructors in the industry! She got first aid and CPR certified, learned about the history of dogs and their grooming, and some new and fun techniques that will help to keep your pets looking and feeling their best!

This weekend, the salon closed so that we could attend PetQuest Groom Expo in Wilmington, OH. We were able to take some continuing education classes from industry experts, network with other groomers, learn new techniques, and get some products and tools that we are excited to try. Kayte received certificates in safe pet handling and canine first aid and CPR, and Marissa assisted with preparing dogs for the competition ring. We are very grateful for the opportunity to attend conferences like this, and can’t wait to bring our knowledge back with us. Thank you to everyone who supports us while we grow the business into the best salon we can be.
