Created with the help of Buckeye House Rabbit Society, they feature "a Dutch rabbit - the plate lets everyone in Ohio know about rabbit rescues! We hope this has sparked inquiry into the world of rescue (and proper care), for those who had ever thought about having a bunny - maybe they will check out a local rescue instead of a pet store or breeder.

This special plate is available now if you want to update your plates and spread the word about rabbit rescue all across Ohio."

“Oh look - maybe I'll check out a rabbit rescue”

One year ago we launched the official OHRR license plate after a five year process! We collected petition signatures and worked with Representative Beth Liston to draft a bill that would create a rabbit-themed license plate. COVID hit and our efforts were delayed. The bill was introduced in 2022, and an Ohio House Transportation and Public Safety Committee hearing was held. It was unanimously approved by the committee. Then it was approved by the Ohio House of Representatives and the Ohio Senate. The artwork and petition signatures were submitted to the BMV to make our plate a reality.

Featuring a Dutch rabbit - the plate lets everyone in Ohio know about rabbit rescues! We hope this has sparked inquiry into the world of rescue (and proper care), for those who had ever thought about having a bunny - maybe they will check out a local rescue instead of a pet store or breeder.

We've had a very busy season with TNR of community cats and kitten rescue ... and it's all For the Love of Cats 😻
