Hi my name is Lola! I am looking for my forever family. I arrived to a shelter when I was 2 months old with my mother and siblings from Alabama. I stayed there for a while, only one week from my 1st birthday. A nice family brought me home to stay with them, but I need something permanent that is a better fit for my needs. I am a herding dog! I want lots of space to run and play! Do you have a big yard or a farm for me to look after? I love all people and dogs so don’t worry about me getting along with the group, I’ll fit right in! I’ve never met a cat though so not sure how I feel about those yet! I’m pretty sweet I like to think… when I’m not running outside I like to cuddle up on the couch and watch TV. Yea, I watch TV! If you wanna watch shows together, I’m down for that, please bring some popcorn though. I am potty trained, walk good on a leash, and even know a couple tricks! Putting myself online is a little awkward and there’s really only so much I can say, the rest you will have to see in person. If you think I might be cool, come say hi! I might even think you’re cool too! In all seriousness, I really want a place to call my own with a family that will love me all my life. Please reach out if you think that may be you! 💕

Today is the day to call your vet for anti-anxiety meds - not July 3rd or 4th!

Here are some safety tips to keep your pet safe. Make sure your pet has identification in case it gets loose. More animals are lost on July 4th than any other day of the year!

Besides Easter Lilies and their danger to cats, please be mindful of these products in your Easter basket. These are scented plastic grass which may be enticing to your pet. The long strings can become trapped in the intestines and cause major life-threatening damage. Same for small children who may be tempted to sample them due to their scent.

Due to this and the chocolate present in Easter baskets, please ensure your pet and children do not have unattended access to the baskets.

Let’s all have a safe and wonderful holiday!

With Easter approaching, please remember: "Easter Lilies Kill Kitties".

All lilies have the potential to make your cat very sick or be lethal, even with a sniff of the flower. PLEASE be sure to inspect all bouquets that enter your house if you have cats. If you have a cat and find that it has been exposed to a lily, please call your veterinarian or the closest veterinary emergency clinic right away. Fast treatment could make a difference.

Please enjoy the holiday and keep lilies away from kitties.

The City of Port St. Lucie has been sharing information about the Trap, Neuter, Vaccinate and Return (TNVR) program, an internationally accepted, effective and humane method of controlling free-roaming cat populations.

The City partners with Operation Catsnip, a local nonprofit organization, and several rescue and veterinary organizations to provide aid and surgical services to residents needing TNVR.

But how does TNVR work?

First, call PSLPD Animal Control at 772-871-5042 and share your situation, including the location, number of cats and any issues you're having so they can guide you toward the correct partner.

Once the best TNVR path for your situation is determined, here is what to expect:
· Set a surgery date.
· Set the trap the night before the surgery date.
· Transport the cat for surgery.
· Return the cat.
To learn more about TNVR and to participate in the program, visit www.cityofpsl.com/cats
