DW was brought to us as a stray in heartbreaking condition. Her tail was tucked anxiously, and her prominent ribs, hip bones, and spine showed that she was malnourished, dehydrated, and had been seriously struggling for some time. On top of everything else, DW had multiple pressure sores, exposed scabs, and an infected wound on her hip. Our veterinary team sat with her in a quiet room to earn her trust and help her relax. Eventually, they could hand-feed this sweet girl, and slowly, her sweet personality started to shine again.
After weeks of supportive care, regular veterinary visits, and enrichment time, she gained 20lbs and stole the hearts of everyone at WHS. Fully recovered and with a loving family of her own, DW gets a second chance at life thanks to your kindness and support.

🎅 The whole family (kids and social pets included!) can get an adorable photo with Santa for just $10, and files will be provided digitally within 3 business days.

All proceeds will benefit the animals and families served by the WHS Door County Campus.

This past summer, this charming little flower and vegetable stand in Ephraim raised $1,736.85 to support the animals and families served by our Door County Campus, thanks to the hard work and generosity of Paul Heim and Julie Watkins! For many years, the couple has grown and given away their produce. This year, they were joined by Helene Anderson, who generously donated gorgeous fresh flowers to help this fundraiser. 💐🍅🥕🫑🥒
Since 2016, this stand has raised an incredible total of $22,201.09. We are endlessly grateful for their kindness and support ❤️
We are so lucky to be a part of such an amazing community.

🙀🚨Adopters and foster families for cats urgently needed! 🚨🙀
Last Friday alone, 121 cats arrived across our shelters in need of care, including 47 from a single home. With our lodging space far beyond capacity, many spent the night in crates inside the conference room at our Milwaukee Campus.
WHS will never turn away an animal in need, and we do not euthanize animals for reasons of time or space, which is why we rely so heavily on the kindness and generosity of the communities we serve.
Here are the ways you can help:
🏡 ADOPT - You can name your own adoption fee for all cats 1 year and up, and we offer buddy pricing on our kittens, so if you adopt two at once, you get half off the second kitten's adoption fee!
