🎊It's National Volunteer Appreciation Week! 🎊
Our volunteers are truly the backbone of our organization; when we say we couldn't do this without them, we really mean it!
Every day, they come in excited for their shift, happy to make a difference in the lives of animals and the people who love them, always giving 100% while asking nothing in return.
Whether they are walking dogs, providing treatments, greeting guests, cleaning, organizing, making calls, completing adoptions, welcoming animals into their homes, or countless other tasks, their selfless commitment is truly admirable. We couldn't be more proud to have them with us, and we’d love if you could jump in the comments and throw some love their way, too.

📅 Did you mark your calendars yet? Shop 'til you drop at the annual Rummage Sale to support Door County animals!
You can start treasure hunting on Friday, May 2, from 12-6pm. We open back up bright and early on Saturday, May 3, at 8:30am. The Saturday Clearance Sale will start at noon: anything you can fit in a bag for $2! *We provide the bags.

🐾 How can you help? We need donations of new or clean and gently used items to resell! You can drop off donation items at the Arle Memorial Hall on Thursday, May 1, from 4-8pm and Friday, May 2, from 8-12pm. Volunteers will be on-site to help you!
Unfortunately, we are unable to accept appliances, clothing, computers, televisions, or large furniture. (However, we are able to accept flat screen TVs and flat screen computer monitors in working condition, as well as a few other exceptions)

Over the course of a year, we serve more than 40,000 animals and the people who love them. We're hoping that you'll consider making a donation to help us continue making a difference for animals like Moxxie. 💖🐾
He was limping, bloody, and covered head to toe in cuts, scabs, and puncture wounds when a stranger found him and rushed him to our shelter. After more than two months of recovery and foster care, Moxxie found a loving home with one of our dedicated volunteers who fell in love the moment they met him.

Exciting News!! 🏈 The Wisconsin Humane Society has been invited to share the spotlight during the upcoming NFL Draft in Green Bay! Tune in on day three (Saturday, April 26) to meet a whole roster of pups available for adoption as they take the national stage to find homes and increase the visibility of shelter animals everywhere. We are profoundly grateful to the NFL and NFL Network for this generous invitation and can’t wait to be a part of Wisconsin history!

📣DEADLINE EXTENDED!
Donations made to the Wisconsin Humane Society are being MATCHED - now through April 15! -

That means your donation of any size will go twice as far for animals like Moxxie.
Covered head to toe in cuts, scabs, and puncture wounds, and with a painfully swollen paw, he came through our doors in dire need of help.
As the rest of his body began to heal, his injured paw showed little improvement, and he was at risk of losing his toe. Tests concluded that the particular infection in his paw was resistant to numerous antibiotics, including the course he was on, and we revised his care plan with a new, more powerful medication.
After more than two months of recovery and foster care, Moxxie was finally cleared to find a family of his own, but he didn't have to look far... he went straight home with one of our volunteer dog walkers who had been smitten from the day they met.
