We are so grateful for Sandy and Ed Miller's generosity, sponsoring today's costs at the shelter in memory of Chester and Emily, born June 11, 1996. They were beloved members of the Miller family for 16 years, and their memory and legacy will live on through the lives of the many animals helped in their honor.

Through the end of the month, adoption fees for dogs 6 months and up are $75, and adoption fees for all our *benchwarmer* dogs are $25! Lucky was 2 months old when she arrived at our doors in urgent need of care. Her face was red, swollen, and covered in fissures, and her lymph nodes were visibly enlarged. Despite her discomfort, Lucky ran from lap to lap and eagerly welcomed our cuddles. We were relieved to confirm that her vital signs were stable and more grateful still that she found help before it was too late. ❤️
Lucky was suffering from an autoimmune disorder commonly referred to as "puppy strangles," or juvenile cellulitis. The cause of this potentially fatal condition is unknown, but she has responded well to a course of steroids paired with antibiotics to treat the secondary bacterial infection. While she has greatly improved, the risk of opportunistic infections remains, and she could use your support as she completes her recovery. If you're able to make a gift of any size, it would make such a difference for Lucky and the many other animals in our care, each hoping for healthy lives filled with love. ❤️‍🩹

🖐️But wait - there’s more!🖐️ You can take a Benchwarmer dog home for a week BEFORE deciding to adopt!
Through Benchwarmer Tryouts, our foster-to-adopt program, you can get to know your new canine friend at home for up to 7 days to see if they’re a good fit for your team. If you fall in love and want to add them to your family’s roster, you can complete the adoption online from the comfort of your own home. 🐶❤️
To get started with the Benchwarmer Tryouts program:
