Hey Gang, the guys are down at the shop doing the thing until 8:00pm tonight. The west gate *is open* and the lot is accessible from Fawn River Rd if you're coming in off South Centerville.

If you're trying to come in from the east side, you're gonna wanna take the quick detour on Nottowa, South, and South Centerville.

Current Mood:
I Assure You We're (All) Open!!

You can use our turn around if you have to, just don't let those signs fool you.

Folks trying to come in from the east entry should use the Nottowa to South St, to South Centerville Rd, to Fawn River Rd detour, because for the forseeable future, west-side is the best-side around here.

Also, Free Seeds to anyone that makes it in, and quotes a line from the flick referenced in this post.

Happy Wednesday. Stay Safe. We're Here Until 8:00pm :-)

05/24/2023

Just a reminder, our west gate will be open and we'll be here 4U all through the new construction project.

Tomatoes and Peppers are beginning to drop around the shop. They still need to harden off a bit more, and be brought inside at night, but they're at LoneSpruce Farms Sturgis if anyone needs.

Squash, watermelon, and cucumber too :-)

Good Morning & Happy Tuesday Lonesprucers!!

We have plant starts that are still hardening off and almost ready to go in to the ground. Still have chilly nights ahead, so IF you do take some a start, be sure to bring it inside each evening until the overnight temperature stays above 52 degrees. Each evening your tomatoes spend below 52 will delay your harvest by 2 weeks--minimum--IF the plant survives. Just an fyi..

FB still won't let us access messages, so if you're looking for a specific start, drop a comment, and we'll respond, or contact us on our site bit.ly/lonespruce

Tractor Tommy is here and ready to load you up with all the mulch, stone, and compost you can handle.

We'll be here 4U until at least 5:30 this evening, and 8:00pm tomorrow (Wednesday).

Stop by, or call 269-651-2266, and let us know how all Tommy Can Help :-)

They say an Ounce of prevention is worth a Pound of cure, and they are correct. To prevent Powdery Mildew issues in your grow, increase the Calcium your plant uptakes by introducing amino acids through Seaweed Extracts. Doing this properly will create a plant healthy enough to where fungal spores cannot pe*****te or grow on the leaves. So, TLDR: Ca+Seaweed Extract Aminos = PM Resistant Plants.

However, hindsight is 20/20, and if you get in a spot where PM develops, LoneSpruce Farms Sturgis' Plant Guy suggests Bee-Safe 3-in-1 Spray. It's simple, effective, and safe for trees, bees, and homies!

How to deal with PM issues. The **BEST** way to deal with Powdery Mildew is to prevent it. The key to preventing PM issues is to have good Calcium uptake, humidity between 40%-60%, and steady airflow. Amino Acids, like the ones found in Seaweed Extracts will also stimulate root growth, and open up Calcium Ion Channels, so your plants take up Calcium 1,000's of times faster. When this happens, the mold spores *cannot* get established in the plant and spread.

The 2nd best way to deal with it is pick yourself up a bottle of Bee-Kind 3in1, but an ounce of prevention is worth pounds of cure here.
