Background & Purpose
Buffalo Spirit Ranch was established in Mississippi on December 15, 2002 for the purpose of providing: natural horsemanship clinics and lessons, horse farming, fine art photography, motivational speaking and performances, wilderness expeditions, and fine art leather goods. The scope of programs at BSR over the years evolved into more emphasis on natural horsemanship, fine art photography, motivational speaking, and wilderness expeditions. Today, these are the core programs at the ranch. We believe horses are ambassadors of peace, and through our “One With The Horse” program, we are able to touch the hearts of all who visit the ranch. We begin with an intensive 3-day clinic, followed by weekly sessions. People with little to no experience with horses are enrolled in the beginner level program, and this group usually attains astounding results in 3 days. There are off-site accommodations nearby in Salem for the clinics. Included in the clinics is a campfire program at the top of the ranch, consisting of storytelling, sharing of life stories, music, and good food. The wilderness expedition program is also a 3-day event, taking place in the Leatherwood & Lower Buffalo Wilderness areas, less than an hours drive from the ranch. Participants will spend 3 days and 2 nights in tents, enjoying some of the most beautiful scenery in the country. We also offer extended expeditions to either Yellowstone National Park and vicinity or Glacier National Park. The owner of Buffalo Spirit Ranch formerly lived near both areas, and is intimately familiar with the landscape of each.
