Hazard of being a Dog Groomer 🤦‍♀️
Yesterday around 2:30 I tripped over a dog going to the tub to bathe it and used my hand to catch myself on the tub. Didn't really bother me at the time, was just trying to get the dog to the tub.
After I get home around 8:30pm, I start vacuuming and realize my palm feels strange. Kind of swollen. Doesn't hurt to bend my fingers or wrist. So I start feeling around on the swollen area. I feel this hard spot that I know isn't supposed to be there poking up. Like I said didn't hurt, just not right and pinky fingertip was a little tingly. This morning when I wake up my fingertip is still tingly.
It's not broke/fractured, but the hard spot is more than likely a torn tendon that will take time to heal.
Don't worry, it's not slowing me down much. I've groomed 3 dogs today.
I do have to give a big shout out and Thank You! to Shelly for saving the day this morning and meeting my clients and bathing dogs for me while I was at the clinic getting my hand looked at. 😘❤️ Thank you so very much!!!!

Please slow down when you see an animal approaching the road, not all are strays and have a loving home. Accidents do happen.

Chief came in for a Christmas trim full of s***k & so excited. He didn't want to get in the tub for me and I thought I was going to have my hands full with his grooming. But.....this turkey kept falling asleep on me and kept trying to sit down the entire time😂😂😂

Mom said she likes him long, shaggy, and curly. I told her once I blow-dried and brushed him out his hair would be straight and puffy and all she would have to do is spritz him with water and let him air dry and all his curls would come back. She was kind of sad he wouldn't be curly when she left him. However when she came back a few hours later and picked him up Mom absolutely loved his new fluffy look and said he was super cute and handsome ❤️
I just trimmed the dead ends off his body and legs, trimmed/rounded his face and feet up, evened his ears up, rounded his head out, did sani & paw trim and Dremeled his nails.

Scout is such a cutie pie and needed a touch up for Christmas 🎄🎅🐾🐾

I cut around 4-6 inches off of her, she was a tangled mess and didn't want me brushing her out, but my clipper blade fit under the tangles and I didn't have to shave her bald! 🙌👏

It's been a busy few weeks so far 😅🫣 and this is just a few of the dogs. I've been so busy trying to get everyone done that I have forgotten to take pics.

The week before Christmas is always the worst. People calling nonstop to make last minute appointments and getting frustrated when you tell them you don't have any availability and no you can't work any later.
SO PLEASE BE NICE!!!
I'm already working later and not getting home before 8pm. By the time I disinfect/sanitize my scissors, blades, tubs, tables, kennels and start a load of towels, fold & put away the clean towels and vacuum & mop the floors after grooming all day I'm wore out and my feet and back is k_lling me 😳
I have my own dogs to get home to, let out and feed, then I have to make sure my husband and I eat something and be able to relax & unwind before going to bed and starting all over the next day. Plus I have to make my own time to be able to Christmas shop.
SO PLEASE BE NICE!!!!
It's hard on us groomers this time of year, be nice to us! It's not our fault you waited till the last minute to try and get your dog groomed. My Thanksgiving & Christmas appointments have been scheduled since at least June and my regular/dependable clients get first pick at those sacred appointments. Once all those have been chosen I fill in the gaps in my schedule. Every once in a while I'll have a last minute cancellation and I'll make a post if I've already reached out to everyone on my list I have written down. You just have to be watching for my posts.
And on top of all that I've had to deal with the random person walking down the road, stop in after dark, try and be nosey looking around my shop and trying to open my gate to get in the back room. That's why Wrangler comes to work with me every day and that's why he runs around while I'm grooming dogs in the back grooming room.
SO PLEASE BE NICE!!! It's already stressful enough.

Morticia is a very sweet and loving girl. She just wants me to touch her the entire time. She loves getting all the attention she can and with those puppy dog eyes she sure knows how to!
She's around 8-9 years old and was recently rescued by a very loving family. She has adjusted well and is so very happy. Her personality is so fun to watch, a little more comes out each time. When she came through the door she was kind of prancing, had a big smile on her face, got the wiggles going and was happy to see me. This is her second time getting groomed by me. The more she comes the more she will feel comfortable with me.

I got all kinds of sticky stuff off of Crystal's legs and Isis had a little on her as well 😂😂😂 I groom them every 3 weeks so it's not like they haven't been groomed recently either 😂😂😂
They are double trouble and aren't happy with the new baby getting all the attention. Hopefully they will adjust soon and calm down 🤞🤞

Biscuit surprised me and was the total opposite of what I expected 😁
He was so well behaved and stood like a statue during his entire groom 😳👏❤️ He is a groomers dream on the table!!! Great job Mom!!!! Although his hair looked wild and super long, he had absolutely no mats in his hair 👏👏👏 He had some in his sani area, but that was getting shaved off anyway.
Mom said just to do a regular, short, doodle cut. So that's what I did. Maybe next time I can get her to grow him and his top knot out and let me play around and do a fun cut on him🤞

Him and Wrangler love chasing each other from the front to the back, onto the cot, then onto the couch. Their paws just a slipping and sliding on the floor. Tounges out with a big smiles on their faces. They will yip at each other too 😂😂😂
When Chevy is on the grooming table, he stands perfectly still though 😂

Just a reminder that I will be closed Thursday afternoon and Friday due to Hoosier having surgery to remove a lump on his chest. Please say a little prayer for him, he is 13yrs old. Other than the lump he is in great health, but we are still worried since he's an elderly dog. Thank you ❤️🐾🐾
