Rubidium -
2010 German Oldenburg Verband Bay & White Pinto mare.
16.3 HH
Rhodium/ Art Deco/ Damascus Prince xx.

Available after weaning her 2024 Cum Laude c**t (Also available)

Rubi is as sweet, kind and easy as they come, she is well handled and lovingly owned by her breeder who is retiring from horses.
Proven broodmare, but not rebred this year. She is pasture sound and comfortable.

Sire: Rhodium (Ferro x G. Ramiro Z x Voltaire) was a 17H KWPN Approved stallion.
The jury described Rhodium as a very well developed stallion, extremely well modelled who stands perfectly in a rectangle. “Rhodium has a good forehand and front and a strong upperline. His legs have lots of quality. He is a wonderful, honest stallion. Rhodium is always prepared to work. His walk as well as his trot has a great length. He trots with a lot of lightness, rhythm and elasticity in his front and hind legs. When cantering we see the same good results as when trotting. The natural ability of Rhodium to become an excellent dressage horse is enormous.

He began his competition career under Hans Peter Minderhoud. They finished 6th at the 2005 World Young Horse Championships in Verden and won the 2005 KWPN Stallion Competition. Diederik van Silfhout then briefly rode him at small tour level.
With more than 1,000 KWPN-registered offspring, Rhodium leaves behind a legacy as a breeding stallion. He produced two KWPN-approved sons and several FEI and Grand Prix competition horses.
Rhodium's foals inherit the movement and also the light footed canter of their sire.

Dam: Americana is a 2002 SPF homebred by Art Deco out of the TB mare, Damascus Jewel (Damascus Prince x Battler's Cherie). Americana has been a career broodmare, family riding horse and now a LL Dressage mount upon her retirement from breeding. A true amateur friendly riding horse and producer of the same.

Rubi sustained a pasture injury as a yearling, leaving her with some shoulder muscle atrophy, and as such she was never started under saddle. She is very pasture sound, and could possibly be a light riding/pleasure mount if desired. Easy keeper, good in a group, can live outside or in.
Loving, long term home is most important, and considerable preference will be given to this situation.
Please PM only for more information.

Our Story

Six Pound Farm is a beautiful, peaceful and spacious farm located in South Eastern Virginia, close in proximity to the North Carolina border and about 30 miles inland. We are proud breeders of Royal Dutch Warmblood horses (KWPN) with a focus on Jumper types that suit the needs of a professional or amateur owner. We firmly believe that you get out what you put in, and that applies to every aspect of our management program. Our program is smaller and quality focused; which allows for daily individual attention and interaction. The health and well being of every horse in our program is paramount. Our breeding mares have been carefully selected for their athleticism, rideability, temperaments and sport performance or potential. We pride ourselves on running a top quality program in every aspect of breeding and youngstock raising. Our stallion selections are based upon the best matches for the individual mare, aiming to produce horses with exceptional interior and exterior qualities. Our mares receive optimal care at all times, and live in smaller sized groups as naturally as possible. Our young horses are also carefully raised in age appropriate groups; they have ample and safe turnout where they self exercise, daily handling, regular farrier and veterinary attention and a high quality nutrition program. We often have a select few young horses available for sale, please inquire. We also offer limited boarding at our tranquil and private farm. We have large, open fields which the horses find calming and reassuring of their surroundings. The environment lends itself to very happy and well settled equines. Our all inclusive care program is perfect for owners that want all their horse’s essential needs met but don’t have the time or space to do it themselves. Perfect for youngsters, retirees or broodmares. Currently home to DarkHorse Eventing & experienced trainer Kate Mason. She is a true horseman, and runs a fabulous program that puts the horses needs first. Excellent instruction, excellent training - happy horses & happy students. We are so fortunate to have her here with us, she is a true asset to the tidewater community. She provides Full and partial training as well as Haul In lessons at our farm.
