🐾 MUZZLE USE EXPLAINED: All the greys at our kennel get time out alone in the yard and in the office with volunteers, without muzzles. We only use muzzles when 2 or more are out together playing because their thin skin is easily injured by a random fang or nail. That can require weeks of soaking and wrapping, or even staples. It happens in an instant and is usually NOT an aggression thing, just greyhounds playing like greyhounds. They can eat treats and drink water with the muzzles on. And they never have them on in their crates. These dogs don’t live together so they are getting to know each other. Dogs establish pack order themselves through various behaviors. Muzzles let them do that without endangering their skin.
Oreo
“Oreo” racing name Love Race, is a stunning kiwi boy chock full of love and looking for a lap (or several laps) to call his own. This tall boy is a true Velcro dog who wants to be near his people. Need a constant companion in your life? Submit an application and come meet Oreo!
*Note: there were 4 other dogs in the yard with Oreo when this video was made. Please read below before commenting about muzzles. We are always happy to educate, but not going to argue about this. If you are not willing to do something as simple as muzzling to keep sensitive skin safe, we do not want you adopting one of our precious greyhounds.
