CARE OF HORSES

Watering and feeding
Turn out/in
Visual checkups to determine health
Grooming when applicable

BARN CHORES

Stall cleaning
Manure spreading/disposal
Mucking out paddocks Garbage collection and removal
Sweep and maintain aisles
Scrub out and refill water buckets
Scrub out and refill pasture water troughs

BARN & OUT BUILDING MAINTENANCE

Water & drag indoor/outdoor arenas and paddocks
Repair of equestrian equipment
Repair of fencing
Care of barn infrastructure

GENERAL

Monitor supplies, replenishing from storage areas; notifies manager when quantities are low
Monitor health of horses; notifies manager of any irregularities immediately
Monitors waste disposal to ensure efficient use of containers
Provide customer service when applicable.
Receive and store deliveries.
Direct visitors to appropriate area
Performs all job tasks within the rules and guidelines of North Star
Performs any additional related tasks as required

QUALIFICATIONS

General knowledge of horses and their care
Ability to follow directions and work both independently and as a team

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

1 year practical experience in equine field
High School diploma / GED
Valid driver’s license
Knowledgeable and trainable in farm machinery operation
Strong verbal and written communication skills
