Some diseases that can be spread from pet waste to Humans are Campylobacteriosis- a bacterial infection that causes diarrhea in humans. Salmonellosis- the most common bacterial infection transmitted to humans from animals. Symptoms include fever, muscle aches,vomiting, and diarrhea. Toxocarisis- roundworms transmitted from animals to humans. Symptoms include vision loss, rash, fever, or cough. Giardiasis - a diarrheal illness caused by a one-celled, microscopic parasite Once an animal or person has been infected, the parasite lives in the intestine and is passed in the stool. Because the parasite is protected by an outer shell, it can survive outside the body and in the environment for long periods of time. If you have children, you know that they touch anything and everything. And, they put their hands in their mouths. Protect your little ones from these awful diseases. Other diseases such as Parvovirus, Coccidia, and Distemper can be spread from dog to dog through infected waste. Dog p**p can also contain roundworms, hookworms, and whipworms.
