Ugg. I just saw the temps for this week. Please, please, do not take your dogs out anywhere. Do not go for a walk or leave them in the car. For those of you that have an appointment with me, please carry in the one's that are small enough and don't put them on the asphalt or concrete that's in the sun. The shop will be cool, with water and potty pads if needed. And please do not freak out and ask me to shave your dog bald!!

I guess I spoke too soon, thinking the fleas weren't going to be bad this year. I will be asking everyone if their dogs are on a regular flea regimen. If not and they have fleas they will need treated before grooming please.

I apologize for the gross photo but it's a teaching moment. This is one reason going 7 months between grooms (on a dog that needs haircuts like a poodle) is not recommended. Even if you want to grow their hair out for winter there is a lot of things that still need attention, like sanitary trims. This poor girl has an infection, probably bacterial, from the p**p being stuck to her butt. This is a worst case scenario but not the first time I've seen it. Now she needs a vet and we all know that's more expensive than getting a groom. I'm glad I was able to clean it up so well and get it dried out. Groomed by April
