Cats out of the bag! We are very excited to announce that Dr. Molly Ginn, DVM will be joining our practice full time. Molly is eager to be back in Sulphur Springs serving her hometown community. Please congratulate her on all of her accomplishments and say hello.

🌑 BVH will be closed April 8th for the Solar Eclipse! Here are some pointers to ensure your pets safety 🌑

1. Keep pets indoors during the eclipse to prevent them from looking directly at the sun and damaging their eyes.
2. Close curtains or blinds to block out the sunlight and reduce the risk of pets being tempted to stare at the sun.
3. Provide a safe, secure and familiar environment for your pets to reduce stress and anxiety during the eclipse.
4. Ensure that your pets have access to fresh water and a comfortable resting area to help them feel calm and relaxed.
5. If you must take your pet outside during the eclipse, make sure they are on a leash or in a secure enclosure to prevent them from running off in confusion or fear.
6. Monitor your pets for signs of distress or unusual behavior during the eclipse and seek veterinary care if necessary.

Dental health is a very important part of your pet’s overall health, and dental problems can cause, or be caused by, other health problems.

Your pet’s teeth and gums should be checked at least once a year by your veterinarian for early signs of problems and to keep your pet’s mouth healthy.

Have your pet’s teeth checked sooner if you observe any of the following problems:

🦷Bad breath
🦷Broken or loose teeth
🦷Extra teeth or retained baby teeth
🦷Teeth that are discolored or covered in tartar
🦷Abnormal chewing, drooling, or dropping food
🦷Reduced appetite or refusal to eat
🦷Pain in or around the mouth
🦷Bleeding from the mouth
🦷Swelling in the areas surrounding the mouth

Some pets become irritable when they have dental problems, and any changes in your pet’s behavior should prompt a visit to your veterinarian. Always be careful when evaluating your pet’s mouth, because a painful animal may bite.

She is graduating today with an undergraduate degree in Agricultural Sciences and Natural Resources. 👩🏻‍🎓

She has been a part of our clinic for the past six years where we have watched her learn, grow, and pour her heart into each of our clients. We are so proud of the hard work she's put into enriching our team and also into working towards her degree.
