Do you know what kind of snake this is?
This is a wild banded water snake. It is a common nonvenomous snake, often mistaken for its venomous lookalike, the water moccasin. The vertical stripes around its jaw are one good way to identify this snake.
(If you happen to see some native friends hanging around the farm, we ask you to inform a staff member and not pick up or harass them.)
