Wendy started pet sitting in 2002 for Amanda, a friend who owned Gate City Pet Sitters. When Amanda decided to close the business in 2010, due to family obligations, a couple of clients continued to call Wendy for their pet sitting needs. With her experience with rescues (Juliet’s House, Jan’s Animal Rescue, and taking care of the cat habitat at Petco in Kernersville), and her love of pets, Wendy feels blessed. All team members are background checked, bonded, and insured. We love taking care of and forming a bond with our clients and their fur and feather babies. All pets are different with their own special personalities, likes, dislikes, and reactions. We find it a welcome challenge to see how much fun we can have or just sit quietly with lots of head scratches, belly rubs, and lots of love. This is the second dog in the last two weeks that we’ve had come in to our hospital with this type of bone stuck around it’s mandible. Separate companies but the EXACT same design.

Please do NOT buy this type of bone for your pup! It’s not worth the risk. Luckily for this patient, our technician was able to wiggle it free but our previous patient was under general anesthesia for nearly a half hour while we went through every tool in our arsenal to saw through both sides of the bone safely.
Both dogs are lucky that they did not end up with lacerations or broken teeth.

So much fun to watch Harper and Wags play together, especially since Wags lost her sight last year. Harper the puppy has really made a difference in Wags’ life. They are the best of buddies.

I wish these signs were up everywhere.

I had an incident the other day where someone was visiting a neighbor next-door to the person I was pet sitting for. They let the dog out without being on a leash. It came over almost in the garage where I was with the two dogs I was getting ready to take for a walk. It started a really big fight. There are leash laws in Guilford County for a reason. 😞
