Late posting this due to being out of town when I got these pictures, but this little boy finally got to go to his new home this past Thursday. Meet Maxfield (Max). We kept him a few weeks until his new owner got back from a vacation they had planned. It is definitely wierd not having any puppies around the house but very thankful they’re all in great homes with wonderful families ❤️ congratulations to the Weitoish family!

So we had to make probably the hardest decision yet as a breeder. We kept this girl from this most recent litter to breed. Her name was Freya. Unfortunately she didn’t grow quite as fast as her siblings and has a smaller frame. There’s a chance she could have gotten to a good breeding size but after much deliberation decided it was in her best interest to let her go to a loving family instead of taking the chance on her not developing into a good breeding prospect and then having to try and adopt her out as an adult.

She has that loving furever family now and her new name is Nova Starr. Congratulations to the Saunders family! We will miss you sweet girl and have no doubt you will have a wonderful life ❤️

*Friendly reminder to puppy owners*

Are you having potty training troubles with your new puppy, or even adult dog? Double check our foolproof potty training checklist and make sure you’re setting your dog up for successful training (or re-training).

🐾 No Free Roaming
When you can’t actively watch your puppy, they should be in a crate, playpen, gated in a room, or on leash near you. This prevents them from sneaking off to potty indoors. It also allows you to catch them as soon as they begin to go so that you can rush them outside. They can roam freely for 1-2 hours after they have gone to the bathroom outside.

🐾 Take Frequent Bathroom Breaks
Take your puppy out to the same spot each time, and do so frequently. Every 1-2 hours, sometimes even more frequently, to start. Once you have a better idea of their bathroom habits, you can adjust the time between potty breaks accordingly.

🐾 Stand Still
Moving around too much can distract your puppy by offering them new smells and sights. Puppies have a very short attention span, and even something as simple as a car driving by can make them loose their train of thought. Standing in the same spot helps them remain focused on the task at hand.

🐾 Have Scheduled Feeding Times
There are so many reasons to not free feed your dog, and this is definitely one of them! Knowing when your dog last ate helps you time their bathroom breaks more accurately. When your dog is able to eat whenever they want throughout the day, it can be hard to figure out when exactly they may need to go.

🐾 Consider Adding a “Potty Command”
“Potty commands” can speed up your puppy’s bathroom breaks and help keep their mind on the task at hand. For the first week, you will need to “Pavlov” them to the word or short phrase that you’d like to use to get them to go to the bathroom. You can have a word for each function, or just one for both. As your puppy is actively going outside, just repeat the short word or phrase the entire time they go. After that first week is up, you can begin to prompt them to go to the bathroom using your new potty command. Praise them for going after you’ve prompted them.

🐾 Troubleshooting
The biggest complaint we get is “We take them out, and they come back inside and immediately poop!”. This falls back to our third bullet point. Many dogs get distracted when they’re outside. After your first potty break, bring them inside for 5 minutes, put them in a crate or keep them on leash. After the 5 minutes it up, take them outside and try again. When they do what they need to do, they can come inside and roam freely again.

Updated pics of our boy Kratos ❤️ This is not the same boy we was getting. We are very fortunate to be dealing with an honest breeder who just wants to see the best quality puppies being produced. She noticed the same things we were noticing on the original puppy we was getting. The closer he got to being 8 weeks old it was already clear he wasn’t a great breeding prospect. We get weekly pics and was noticing the changes he was going through weren’t for the better. She called us up to talk about it, and asked us to take a look at some puppies from a slightly newer litter, and to look at this one in particular to see what we thought. We fell in love with him and she switched our deposit over to this boy and will make sure the other boy goes to a good pet home.
