Finally, the last one from last years deer season is mounted and in the drying stage. Just in time for gun season tomorrow. Good luck to everyone heading out during the 1st and 2nd season. Have fun but most of all stay safe.

Here's a couple bucks that made beautiful europeans. I've mounted a couple of bucks that were hit by vehicles, but never worked on one that committed su***de. The giant with multiple points made the fateful decision to jump off a bridge to his death in front of my customer. I love just looking at him, he's truly an amazing buck. The other one is mine from a couple weeks ago. I haven't quite made the decision yet if I will mount him yet. I really like the way he looks as a euro.

Something new for me in the shop I've never seen, Wry nose. It is a birth defect seen in horses and cows. What's even more crazy is the buck I caped before this one had the same thing. Two in a row, how does that happen. The interesting life of a taxidermist.

Ok folks, here's a video I took last night on where to cut when caping your trophy. This process is so important to get right. Poor caping jobs are so unavoidable if everyone would take the time to watch the several videos YouTube has. I hate telling a customer they need a different cape because of a poorly caped deer. So please take your time, watch a caping video and please use a sharp knife.

Not sure what I've done to deserve such luck. I've never shook so hard after a shot then I did tonight. Notched my nonambulatry tag on a heck of a nice buck. Thanks to some great friends for dragging him out of a spot no wheelchair could go.

Happy Friday folks. It's that time of year to talk about prices. The price of a standard shoulder mount for deer and antelope size critters will be $500. Europeans will still be $100. I wish everyone the best of luck this season.

Bow season started on the 1st of October, and it may be a little warm out for most to sit in the tree, but a cold front will be hitting our area later in the week. It's makes a good time to remind everyone about my European business. Save yourself the hassle of the mess involved cleaning a skull and bring it to Wheely's Taxidermy. Not everyone can afford or have the room for a shoulder mount, but Wheely's Taxidermy can offer a reasonable price and a fairly quick turnaround time for your skull cleaning needs. If ya'll could do me a favor and share this post with your hunting buddies, it would be appreciated. Good luck to everyone this season and hunt safe.

It's been a crazy start to Disabled Hunter season. A big doe Monday night and old huge body buck I was hoping to get a shot at. Crazy just crazy. Also had some cute little helpers.
