Palmetto Saddle Club horse show was a great day for RNR Equine! We had lots of successful rides, plenty of ribbons, and above all we had tons of fun! I absolutely love seeing all the smiles, it makes all the hard work worth it❤️🏅

Happy Spring Break!🙌🏼☀️🌧️ We had a blast at camp this week & packed in so much fun. We rode horses, snuggled baby goats, snacked, played, and rode some more! We made the most of a rainy day today with some ba****ck rides and can’t wait for next time. I love seeing all the happy faces as I go through the pictures, and I hope you will too😊

Monday & Tuesday $65
10am-12:30pm for ages 4-8
1pm-3:30pm for ages 9+

Wednesday $55
10am- 2pm for all ages with a pizza lunch included!

Please understand that these age groups are simply a guide and not set in stone. If I feel like your child would be better suited with a different group, accommodations will be made.

Each camp includes riding, grooming, games, a snack, craft, and more!

Week 3!! We packed in riding, untacking, bathing, ba****ck riding, and ran some rodeo patterns! We also learned about & memorized various pieces of tack, equipment & farrier tools and drew our favorite horse. We had so much fun with this group.

More fun from last week! These girls had so much fun doing all the training, riding, and popsicle making we could cram into our 2 days together. The horses sure loved their treats!!

I’ll always share this when I see it! Riding horses and having true horsemanship are two completely different things. The hard work, dedication and commitment it takes to have horses are all such valuable life skills. These are not learned when the work is done for them! That’s why every kid who comes through Havenwood knows the value of hard work, and in turn they grow a true appreciation for the privilege it is to ride our horses.❤️

It always puzzles me when trainers and parents tell me that kids aren't helpful at the barn. Yesterday was 95 degrees, humid as hades, and all these young ladies showed or rode at least 4 ponies each and did barn work from dawn until dusk. Riding is a privilege and horsemanship all around is an essential part of this. There is no age where your child is "too young" to help and sweep and clean bridles and fill water buckets.

Week 1 was great! We had an awesome group of kids and had so much fun despite the heat. We covered a few skills in the saddle and tested their knowledge with an obstacle course, groomed, learned about pieces of tack and equipment, washed & pampered our deserving horses, drew a horse of our own, ate some fun snacks, and so much more. We packed A LOT into 3 days… ready for round 2!

Also, I forgot to send their horse drawings home🥴. Send me a message if your child wants theirs and we can work out a time for you to pick up!

Finishing up the last bit of planning and preparing for horse camp next week. I’m praying for each child and helper who will step onto the farm this week and expecting a safe week full of FUN! I can’t wait to see all they’ll learn.

Things your riding instructor wants you to know: Pt1

1. This sport is hard. You don't get to bypass the hard…..every good rider has gone through it. You make progress, then you don't, and then you make progress again. Your riding instructor can coach you through it, but they cannot make it easy.
2. You're going to ride horses you don't want to ride. If you're teachable, you will learn from every horse you ride. Each horse in the barn can teach you if you let them. IF YOU LET THEM. Which leads me to…
3. You MUST be teachable to succeed in this sport. You must be teachable to succeed at anything, but that is another conversation. Being teachable often means going back to basics time and time and time again. If you find basics boring, then your not looking at them as an opportunity to learn. Which brings me to…..
4. This sport is a COMMITMENT. Read that, then read it again. Every sport is a commitment, but in this sport your teammate weighs 1200 lbs and speaks a different language. Good riders don't get good by riding every once in awhile….they improve because they make riding a priority and give themsevles opportunity to practice.l

We kicked off our fall show season in Clemson this weekend. We had a great time at T Ed for the state show! The girls did great, and it was a great first experience for all of them in an indoor arena. Our horses wore many hats this weekend- flag horses, personal show horses, kids show horses, AND trail horses. They’re worth their weight in gold.❤️ We’re so proud of Ella, Emma, and Georgia and looking forward to the rest of our fall season!

Our first summer horse camp just came to a close. These kids made new friends, learned LOTS, and had so much fun! Many of these guys learned to tie a girth completely on their own, we covered wound care and the different materials needed for various health issues, and they can name most parts of the saddle and bridle! Heat indexes were over 100° but there were almost no complaints, we’re thankful to have had such an awesome week. Now for a rest!🥵

Only clothing requirement is closed toed shoes and each child should bring a water bottle!

Our last show of the season was Saturday and we went out with a bang! We took 17 kids and 8 horses, showed 25 times!! What beautiful weather for a show, we had an awesome day! We won ribbons, learned lessons, did a lot of sweating, and had so much fun. I’m thankful to have a job I love so much, with kids I love even more. We’ll be back in the show ring this fall!

The smiles this week were my favorite!😍 Spring break horse camp was one of the best yet, we had such a great group of students. We made memories, faced fears, and learned a lot about these special horses. Going through these pictures and seeing so many smiling faces brings me so much joy, I’m so thankful to be able to create a safe and educational place for so much FUN! Thanks for supporting RNR Equine!
