**Needs to be an only pet*** We have a lovable and adorable 4 yo female westie we are looking for the ideal home to match her needs.
She loves people and loves to cuddle. However, what she doesn’t love or even like at all is other dogs. She has a high prey drive so cats are on her dislike list too.
So if you think you may be the right home for Molly please fill out an application for her today with the link below.
She is under going treatment for a flea allergy dermatitis but the vet feels confident that she doesn’t have typical westie skin allergies and her coat should fill in nicely.

She is not available at this time due to necessary medical attention that is needed.

Yesterday was a very big day for the volunteers here at WRSE. We had to transport 10 dogs from a breeder that has closed his kennel up in the mountains of Alabama. We called it Operation Apple Picking because of the large Apple orchard near by.
It didn’t start out too well. Our volunteer Lindy, had an incident while driving in the dark, in the rain up that mountain. Her car slid on the wet leaves off the side of the road. Luckily, she had signal and called 911. After a few stressful hours she was back on the road and loading the dogs. She is a hero for these pups!
They were in their outside kennels full of mud and fleas.
They began the very long journey to the foster families in NC.
Because of the devastating damage to the Western mountains of NC and roads washed away around Asheville, the trip was much longer. The dogs were on their second leg of the trip Knoxville TN and had to travel up to I81 in VA over to I77 to NC. They arrived last night and headed to their new foster homes where much needed baths took place. Each of these pups already know their lives just changed for the better.
There are a lot of vet visits and spay/neutering appointments in the near future. We will update on their progress as it goes along.
This was a lot of coordination to make it happen and if we didn’t have the most amazing volunteers we would have never been able to help these babies.
We are eternally grateful for each and everyone that participated in making this a success.
This is a huge undertaking for our rescue all at once and as always appreciate your continued support.
If you would like to donate to the care of these pups please follow our donation link.

UPDATE- Thank you all for the overwhelming response offering to help foster and transport these pups.
All of them have a placement lined up and their foster homes have been contacted. If we didn’t contact you please know that we may reach out in the near future for help with a rescue pup.
Thank you so much again, we are so grateful for all of you.

Dear Westie Village,

We have been contacted by a breeder that is closing down and wants their Westies to come to WRSE.
We are making arrangements but will need help.
We will be calling foster families on our list but know we will need more help. We are looking for volunteers to foster.
In addition, if you have a application to adopt on file and would like to be considered for a Foster to Adopt option please message us.
****Things to note before contacting us to foster these pups.*****
There are 14 dogs to be placed, they have been in a breeding facility so they are NOT house trained and know nothing of living life inside a home.
They have been with other dogs their entire life so being with a resident dog shouldn’t be an issue. (Not cat tested)
This effort is going to take a great deal of coordination and will need volunteers willing to travel to the dogs location (TBD) for pick up. Most likely it will be in the greater Charlotte area.
A fenced yard is required for fosters and adopting homes. Especially with dogs that have lived their lives in a kennel because they are a flight risk.
No children under the age of 10 in the home.
These dogs are sweet, but will be scared and need time and patience. We have had dogs from this breeder in the past and once they have come out of their shells all became amazing happy family members.
Westies, as we know, are smart and they learn quickly how to adapt.
For those interested in fostering/fostering to adopt, this is how it works.
The dogs, in foster, belong to the rescue while getting medical checkups and spay/neuter surgeries. Once the dog has been cleared you have the option to adopt the dog. If the dog doesn’t seem to be the right fit for your family we can find another adopter at that time.
While in foster, WRSE makes all decisions about the dogs care and will pay for everything they need, food, supplies and medical expenses. Once adopted they become the adopters financial responsibility.
The link below is to our application forms. Please select volunteer form and fill it out to considered, yes even if you have an adoption application on file. We need this form completed for WRSE liability purposes while fostering.

If you can’t foster but would like to help please consider donating. The donation links are on our website westierescuesoutheast.org/donations

Thank you for your continued support! Because of that we can help Westies find their forever happy.
