I can't believe how fast this child has grown in the past 10 years. She's becoming a beautiful, independent little queen! 🥹 One thing is for certain, her love for animals continues to grow too! Just like her mom, her passion runs high for all of our pets and yours, too. She is the absolute best helper I could ask for. My little bestie girl makes me most proud each and every day. 💙

Reptiles, which include snakes, turtles, lizards, and crocodiles, are fascinating creatures that play vital roles in ecosystems around the globe. This day was established to highlight the importance of reptiles in our world and to promote their conservation. Reptiles often face various threats, including habitat loss and illegal wildlife trade, making it crucial to raise awareness about their value and the need to protect them! 🐍🦎🐢🐊💚

❓ DID YOU KNOW ❓ Before I became pregnant with Ellie, I had my very own Reptile Room! I was very active in the reptile community and had a collection of over 30 reptiles. I loved them all, but my favorite was my Carpet Python, Rattleface. She is one of the only ones I kept after Ellie was born. Rattleface was a part of our family until she passed away from neurological complications which sadly are somewhat common in her species. 🌈❤️

Happy National Vet Tech Week! 🐾💉🩺❤️

Veterinary technicians are critical to the day-to-day function of veterinary practices and play vital roles in preserving animal health and welfare. National Veterinary Technician Week provides an opportunity to recognize veterinary technicians’ contributions. First celebrated in 1993, it takes place in the third week of October each year!

Prior to committing to Little Critters Pet Sitters LLC full-time, Jen worked as a Registered Veterinary Technician. She gained a vast amount of knowledge and experience working with exotics, small animal, and emergency/intensive care patients in the Veterinary world. Though she is no longer working as an RVT at this time, she remains passionate about Veterinary Medicine and stays up to date on her licensure in order to keep her Registered Veterinary Technician credentials.

We encourage you to ALWAYS be kind to all of your Veterinary Staff, but if you get a chance - let the techs know how much you appreciate them this week. They deserve it and it will definitely brighten their day! ☀️

Some very good reasons to celebrate these special pups today:

√ Black dogs are just as loyal and loving as dogs of any other color.
√ They have a mysterious quality about them.
√ Black fur hides dirt well, which is beneficial when you’ve been too busy for that dog bath or grooming session!
√ They look fantastic in snowy pictures. The contrast between their fur and the snow is incredible!
√ A black dog is a perfect accessory for any outfit. They go with anything!
√ They are fantastic snuggle buddies.
√ There are plenty of black dogs to choose from in shelters.

🦠 World Rabies Day is observed annually to raise awareness about rabies prevention and to highlight progress in defeating this disease.

🧪 September 28th also marks the anniversary of Louis Pasteur's death, the French chemist and microbiologist, who developed the first rabies vaccine.

🌍 Despite being 100% preventable, every year, rabies kills 70,000 people worldwide. Outside of the US, dogs cause 99% of human rabies deaths. Limited public health resources in some regions limit rabies prevention efforts despite having effective human and animal vaccines for over 100 years.

👩🏻‍⚕️ Today, safe and efficacious animal and human vaccines are among the important tools that exist to eliminate human deaths from rabies while awareness is the key driver for success of communities to engage in effective rabies prevention.

‼️ REMEMBER ‼️

1. Keep your pets up to date with Rabies vaccines. 💉👍🏻

2. If you see an animal known to carry Rabies acting abnormally or in contact with your pet, call animal control immediately. Do not handle the wild animal or risk getting bitten yourself. 🦝🦇

3. If you or your pet has been exposed, contact your personal health care provider and your veterinarian immediately. Time is critical after exposure to prevent infection and DEATH! ☠️

Our Story

Hello! I'm Jen- your fun, reliable and trustworthy pet sitter! I am a graduate with a degree in Veterinary Technology from Columbus State Community College attained in May of 2018. I have been professionally pet sitting since June 2016 and I have loved every minute of it. I have had the opportunity to sit for a variety of pets - dogs, cats, chickens, ducks, horses, pigs, parrots, lizards, snakes, guinea pigs, rabbits - you name it, I’ll take care of it! I have 2 Australian Cattle Dogs of my own and 3 snakes. I have also owned, rescued and fostered a variety of pets ever since I was a young girl. I have had professional training with behavior, behavior modification, aggressive/anxious/fearful dogs, deaf dogs (I definitely have a soft spot for the deaf ones since I have one of my own), handling and medicating, exotic species and much more. Animals are my life and I would love to be able to spend time with you and yours!
