🌟 Pet Birth Defect Awareness Day 🌟

Meet Tug 💙 — my newest foster pup through Speak for the Unspoken. Tug was born both deaf and with a condition called PRAA (Persistent Right Aortic Arch), which makes eating and growing a big challenge. Even with these obstacles, Tug is the sweetest, spunkiest little guy, and he’s teaching us all about strength, resilience, and joy.

Today we honor pets like Tug who are born a little “different” but are absolutely perfect in their own way. Birth defects in pets can range from cleft palates and heart conditions to limb deformities and vision or hearing impairments. With love, proper care, and a supportive community, these pets can thrive and live incredible lives. 🐾

💡 Awareness breaks down stigmas, encourages responsible breeding practices, and reminds us to celebrate every pet for the unique soul they are.

Meet Toby – Your Goofy Sidekick in the Making!

Toby is a 10-month-old Australian Cattle Dog mix with a heart as big as his puppy paws! Weighing in at around 47 lbs (and still growing), this lovable goofball is equal parts cuddly baby and bouncy playmate.

Toby is neutered, microchipped, and up-to-date on vaccines—ready to leap into his forever home! He has a silly, endearing personality and absolutely lives for playtime. Whether he's chasing toys, romping with dog friends, or entertaining himself with a good ol’ zoomie session, Toby brings joy wherever he goes.

He gets along great with other dogs and kids, making him a fantastic family companion. Cats and small animals haven’t been officially tested, but we suspect Toby might be a bit too excited to play—he means well, but not every critter appreciates his enthusiasm.

Crate training? He’s nailing it. House training? Coming along nicely—as long as he’s reminded to pause his playtime for a quick potty break. He's a smart boy and eager to please, especially if treats or squeaky toys are involved.

Toby's signature move? The “flop and wiggle”—where he throws himself dramatically onto the floor for belly rubs and attention, then scoots around like a fuzzy mop. It's impossible not to laugh.

If you're looking for a loyal, joyful, slightly ridiculous best friend to grow up with, Toby's your guy. Come meet him and get ready to fall in love!

Meet Chandler! Could this be The One Where Chandler Finds His Forever Home? 🐾

This 2-year-old, 50 lb Australian Cattle Dog mix is looking for a forever home that will appreciate his big personality and even bigger heart. Chandler is the total package—handsome, smart, loyal, and just the right amount of goofy. He's neutered, up-to-date on vaccines and microchipped.

Chandler is crate trained, doing great with house manners, and loves spending time with his people. He’s an affectionate goofball who bonds hard and would love an active home where he can be included in your daily routine.

When it comes to other dogs, Chandler is a bit selective. He’d prefer to be your one and only or share his space with a calm, submissive pup who respects his boundaries but is also willing to wrestle around at times. Already have a dog at home? A meet-and-greet is required before adoption to make sure it's a good fit!

Looking to double the fun? Chandler’s current bestie, Toby, is also available for adoption through ACDRA and being fostered by the same person. They get along famously, and while adopting them together would be amazing, it’s not required.
