Pupdate on Reba, now Maggie!

Maggie has exceeded all expectations in her new home! Her new mom and dad can’t stop raving about what an awesome dog she is, and it’s clear she was worth the wait. They had been patiently searching for just the right addition to their family, and Maggie turned out to be the perfect match. This beautiful girl is thriving, and her new family couldn’t be happier with her gentle, loving presence.

What a wonderful outcome for Maggie and her forever family! Here’s to a lifetime of happiness, love, and shared adventures together. 🐾❤️

Miner's Daycation Adventure!

Today was a beautiful day, and Miner made the most of it by joining his new friend Max for a memorable daycation on the trails! Miner handled the car ride like a champ, settling right in and enjoying the journey. Once they hit the trails, he and Max became instant besties, bonding over their shared love for adventure.

Miner impressed everyone with his leash manners, walking calmly and confidently beside his friend. His behavior was exceptional—polite, friendly, and full of gentle curiosity. It was a joy to watch him explore and enjoy the day, proving once again what a great companion he is.

Here's hoping he finds his forever home so he can have many more adventures! 🐾

Our boy Nettle! 🐾

Nettle is a lovable and so handsome 4-year-old, 64-pound terrier mix who’s ready to bring joy to his future family. With his big heart and sweet nature, Nettle charms everyone he meets. He’s housebroken, crate trained, and quiet, sleeping soundly through the night in his crate or on his bed.

Nettle is a low-maintenance kind of guy. He gets along with other dogs but prefers to keep his many toys to himself, especially his cherished red Jolly Ball! He’s strong but manageable on a leash with a harness and does great alone for a few hours without showing any signs of separation anxiety or destructive behavior.

Nettle would thrive in a home with older kids, a fenced yard to romp around, and someone who doesn’t mind throwing his ball to him a few times each day. He has a few food sensitivities that are easy to manage, and while he’s usually calm, loud noises like fireworks and thunder do make him nervous. Nettle is an affectionate boy, but not clingy and he is happiest snuggled next to you on the couch.

His absolute favorite thing? Hopping into the front seat of his dad’s truck, ready for a day's work and all the fun that comes with it. Loki is living his best life, and we couldn't be happier for him! 🐶💙🚚

We have two delightful seniors eagerly waiting to meet their forever families. First up is Jitterbug, a 9-year-old Chihuahua mix who couldn’t be sweeter; she’s gentle, affectionate, and will melt your heart.

Then there’s Skeeter, an 8-year-old Chihuahua mix who’s packed with personality and charm—he’s a little guy with a big heart and an even bigger smile!

Both love everyone they meet and would be wonderful companions to bring comfort, love, and lots of joy. Let's get these seniors in the loving homes they deserve!

Today we sent our beautiful Reba off to her forever home with hearts full and tears of joy. At just 2 years old, this incredible German Shepherd has known so much uncertainty and disappointment, as humans failed her at nearly every turn. But Reba never gave up—and neither did we. She came to us as her last chance, her last hope, and with tireless dedication, love, and patience from our entire rescue family, Reba has made a remarkable transformation.

Our compassionate staff and volunteers, along with her incredible foster Kristy Rice and family, and Kountry Kritter Pet Sitters have poured so much into Reba, helping her overcome her fears and showing her she’s worthy of all the love she longed for. Misty Gibson was kind enough to support Reba and pay her adoption fee. All leading to today where we are so proud to see her heading off with her new forever family to live a life filled with kindness, stability, and love.

Reba’s story reminds us how vital it is to have a dedicated team of rescuers who refuse to give up, who look beyond the surface and find the special, loyal heart within every dog just waiting to be loved and cherished.

Congratulations, Reba. We’ll never forget you, and we couldn’t be happier for you. ❤

Seeing her with her new toy had her dad laughing non-stop, and it’s just another reminder of the magic dogs bring into our lives. 10 month old Huffy a/k/a Indiana Jones, Shepherd mix is as sweet and lovable as he is beautiful with his plush brindle coat. Loves everyone and everything he meets!

Foxx had an incredible day on her Daycation! 🐾 First stop: North Beach Nature Center & Trail, where Foxx met a real-life fox—talk about a funny coincidence! 🦊 Then it was off to the boardwalk, where she made lots of new friends, and everyone just adored her sweet personality. While in North Beach, Foxx popped into Rafet’s Hairmasters, where she made even more friends and got to visit with one of our fantastic volunteers, Megan. Foxx was such a well-behaved girl throughout her adventures, charming everyone she met. Foxx is truly a people-pleaser, with so much love to give. She’s just waiting for her perfect companion and best friend. Let’s help this lovable, beautiful girl find her forever home! 💕🐶

What a fantastic day had by all, especially the pups! We got to see some of our alumni’s there too! Thank you Vintage By the Bay and The Blue Heron Boutique for putting together such a fun fundraiser for us! Thank you to everyone who donated to us and those who donated items to us!
